Howdy from a very green Texas town! It is finally warming up and everything is turning green. It is lovely but my nose is a little crazy. We are headed on an Eastern Carribbean cruise in April! We all need a break from the cold that was March and all of the April rain. I mean I have not been able to swim but once. I know my northern friends are laughing, but we start swimming at Spring break. So, I will be very white in all my pics!

Our cruise starts April 25th. We will go to San Juan, St. Maarten, and Castaway Cay. We originally booked the April 18th sailing so we could go to St. Thomas. We had booked this on our 6/2014 Alaskan cruise. However, we actually had to change our cruise for the very first time…

We went to the 50th anniversary of the Academy of Country Music awards. We are big music fans and the opportunity to see this live in Dallas was too much to pass up! We even splurged for the fancy seats and we got to see some famous people. I was about three feet from Hunter Hayes at a special fundraiser on Friday night. He is very tiny…...

So who are we?????

Me – Robin – The Disney planning nerd. I love any Disney trip. My most favorite ones have been my 1st WDW trip in 2008, 1st Aulani trip 2011, my DS/mom spring break in 3/2012, 1st cruise in 6/2012, and ABD Backstage Magic in 2014. As you can see, my firsts are always better. However, I have never had a bad Disney trip either! I love Winnie the Pooh, Jiminy Cricket, Snow White, and Mickey. My absolutely favorite moment was being in Disneyland before opening and imagining that I was sitting on a bench where Walt sat before his beloved park opened. Eyes still get misty about that day…

My DH – Jason – he puts up with and helps finance my Disney needs. He is a great sport. He is currently building some boarding stables and needs a break. He loves Donald and Grumpy…. Yes there is a theme.

My DS – Sager – Gasp a teenager – so don’t be surprised if all you see are fake smiles if any. He loves Disney but really loves to cruise. He loves to watch all of the movies on demand. He is almost done with seeing all of the animated ones and all of the Disney documentaries. We are all a little nerdy in my house and love the behind the scenes and history of everything. He loves Pluto, Stitch, Mickey, and Marvel. We went to Dallas Comic-Con in 2014. There he found his people. My normally shy kid made several friends and looked people in the eyes and had great conversations. It was awesome. He is finally old enough for the Vibe. I hope he actually goes to it. He did not care for the Edge.

Here we are on Tracy Arm day last year. DS is now as tall as DH or super close to it…

We have two fur babies that stay with Grandma and two horses that Grandpa feeds. My parents are awesome!

I am going to attempt to finish this. I cannot promise a lot of pictures, but I will do my best to provide details on what we do. I am going ahead and putting this in the trip report area as we are so close to sailing and will only have a couple more updates before we travel.

Planning

So, after changing our cruise, we were a little disappointed to not go to St. Thomas; however, I think we will enjoy St. Marten and San Juan just fine.

We will fly in the day before and stay at MCO Hyatt. We like the hotel and it is just convenient to us. We don’t often do WDW and are currently on a 2-year hiatus. Yep, the boys asked for that. I am dying, but I will make it.

We will have Happy Limo drive us to the port. We chose to take private transport for two reasons: the cost is close to the DCL transport for 3 people, and I can get a little seasick on a bus.

We will get picked up at 9:45. That gives the first crush of people through at the port and we hope to walk right in.

We are staying on the Concierge level in a 1BR. This should be interesting. We love having the lounge and love getting on the ship first. We found that if we book on board far enough in the future that we can get pretty close to what we paid regular for a verandah room.

We will fly American. Lately, SW has cost us more. We have to do business select so that I can assure we all sit together for my DS. We are blessed to be able to fly first class on 5 hour or more flights. However, my DH has a herniated disc that is really bugging him so I decided that it would be better for him to have room this trip. It really is not worth the expense on the 3-hour flight, but it will be better for him. He is trying to make that decision on whether or not he needs surgery. He has held out for 4 years, but he is not getting much relief from injections anymore. Uggg – he does not want surgery at all, but I hate seeing him in pain. Luckily, we will have some great people working with us at the stables so that will not hampered.

Next, I joined my group and the FE for my cruise. We are breaking up the group into 10 rooms each. That makes me happy; however, I have gone a little overboard for the kids as usual. I am not craft so I am doing regional things and then Disney related items for the kids. I just scored at the dollar spot at Target for a rainy day activity for each kid.

I spent the evening planning my food. I am on an anti-inflammatory diet right now. It really mimics Paleo in a lot ways. The weight is sliding off, but the first week exhaustion almost killed me. Oh well, I can sleep when I am dead… I like planning my meals and workouts while cruising. I have gotten way off track due to foot surgery I had in 2013 and then really hurting the other foot due to limping in 2014. I walked for twelve minutes on the treadmill this week. It felt so good. I am hoping that I can handle the walking this cruise. I will just have to plan out my days really well so I done to the back and forth thing.

We will have Palo Brunch on our first sea day. Also, we will be having a group mixology class with our DIS group. This should be so much fun! This group is really great and seems like will be a lot of fun. We will also do Remy dinner on Pirate night. We are not a big fan of the food that night. We are not fancy people so this should be interesting.

In San Juan, the boys will be doing Discover Scuba while I hang out in the spa and get a massage. After that, we are going to Casa Cortes and get something chocolate. The entire menu has some kind of chocolate in it. Then, we may go to the Fort that was in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. unless the boys are pooped.

In St. Maarten, we are doing a private car tour with Bernard’s tour. We want to do an hour at the beach and hang out on the French side. My DS is noise averse so I am not sure we can do the airplane thing on Maho beach. My DH wants to so we will plat that by air. Then, I want to shop on the French side and we want to go to the Yoda guy shop. Google that if you love Star Wars.

We have rented our first cabana on Castaway Cay. I am afraid that we will be spoiled forever. We plan to stay up for the Avengers Premear the night before. So, we will have a place to take a little nap if necessary.

All I have left to do is the packing. I had to order a bathing suit in a size I am not happy in, but it will look better so I will just have to suck it up. I have a few things still being shipped. I usually pack the day before my trip. I know, I know, I am crazy, but it works for me.

I probably will not post again until we are back. I hope everyone has a great week! Also, I am not good at the quote thing yet. I may have to ask for help, but I will try to figure it out.

I have asked to move this thread to the appropriate place. Ooops! I thought I was in the right place.
