Currently booked inside stateroom room deck 8 on the dream midship. I can change to a porthole midship deck 2. Any opinions? Thanks!

I'm liking your autocorrects. :)

I found nothing wrong with an Inside, but an Oceanview is nice too.

This decision is one only you can make.

I don't mind if my "storeroom" is dark. The vegetables thrive in there.

Some people enjoy not having a window -- they can sleep without any light in their room. I really need to see outside.

Thanks--corrected autocorrect lol! Less than $100 difference. Any opinions on deck preferences?

Keep deck 8 far far better.
Closer to the pools.
Further from vibration of sea, engines etc.
Closer to buffet etc.

Personally, I'd take the oceanview room. I really prefer having the natural light. We did an inside (deck 8) room on our Dream cruise, and, while the virtual porthole is fun, it's not really a big draw for us.

I'm opposite prefer dark to sleep. Just wondering if I miss out having a view. So I suppose if we keep inside room will just need to rise early to catch the views :)

With the inside room on the dream, you would always have the magic porthole/real time views!

I think will keep deck 8 inside. Rise early for views. First cruise :) if we enjoy (expecting so!) Will try for ocean view with better location than what's left at the moment on this cruise. Thanks !!

If the difference is the split bathroom I would go with the on that has a split bath

You might consider checking for an upgrade at the port. Then, if there's something with a higher deck that sounds good, you can grab it.

I'd stick with deck 8. I've done insides on decks 2, 8 and 9 and greatly prefer the upper decks. As soon as we wake up in the morning we turn on the magical porthole so we have our outside view. In case you're not aware of this, the view you have of the outside coincides with where the wall of the monitor is in the cabin. In other words it the head of the bed is on the forward wall of the cabin you'll have a forward view. We've had starboard, forward and aft views and prefer the forward view. Enjoy your first cruise and be sure to book at least a placeholder reservation for your second cruise while on board.

We loveee deck 2 midship. Would never stay up top! So close to all of the action minus the crazy pool deck. We love relying on the stairs for shows etc without waiting in line for an elevator. My kids love sitting in the porthole. Definitely recommend two. A lot less feeling of motion on 2 also!

Motion is far worse the lower you are. The closer you are to something the greater reaction that's science. So the closer to the sea, the closer to the engines, the closer to the thrusters, the greater effect. Lower decks get " random" movements that are unpredictable, whilst further away higher up there ironed out to a gentle sway.
The best things to combat seasickness is to view the horizon and get fresh air. Ears detect movement, so the movement of waves and engines are picked up then your eyes send conflicting information that Walls do not move. You have to let the brain work it all out, looking at the horizon high up, and then adjusting to the sway.

Definitely not true for us ;)
We can feel the motion when in the dining rooms just a deck above and definitely the pool deck more than while in our rooms ;) Just got off the Dream for the third time and same held true for us this time around :)

Why do you think the mdr are on lower decks? Definitely because there is less motion the lower you go. Think of a swaying building. The top sways while the bottom is more stable.
