Good morning! I am staying at POP the first week of June. Originally the plan was to move to another hotel (Coco Keys) the last two days. This was due to price, being closer to Universal, transportation to Universal. Someone mentioned on another thread they didn't see the point in moving. So got me thinking and I priced it this morning; the prices are really close to just stay and then I would have transportation to airport. So here's my questions;

- Is it realistic to stay at WDW on my Universal Days; is the park close enough and is there adequate transportation?
- Can I make a seperate reservations for the extra days or should I modify my current?
- If I make seperate reservation; can I add DDP to just the package? I don't need dining on my Universal days??

Thanks for helping me decide!! :)

We went to universal for one day a few years back on a trip to disney. We used a taxi which ended up being about 50 dollars to universal and back. May get pricey if you do multiple days there's. you can do separate reservation - first part with package and second part without. But, they may move your room if it's at the same resort.

If you are thinking about changing resorts anyway, I'd suggest staying at one of the Universal Resorts. That way, you get Front of the Line access to all the rides for your days at Univeral. The $50 cab fare you would have to pay could be put towards one of their resorts instead.

We did a Mears Shuttle to Universal two years ago. It was $19 per person, round trip. It was convenient and comfortable. We are skipping Universal for our next trip, but in a couple of years, we want to split a stay between WDW and a Universal hotel, so we can get early entry to HP and front of the line access. But if cost was your motivation, I don't think a Universal hotel will be cheaper than the POP. Universal hotels didn't have an airport shuttle, last I checked, so you lose that.

Thanks for all the replies.

I would love to stay at a Universal resort BUT the price is 350 a night. I meed two nights; YIKES!

I will have to look into Mears and cab fare before I make a decision I guess. I also looked into the pirate room at CBR; I couldn't do my whole trip here originally but adding a couple days at the end might be a fun treat if we are going to stay on the property on the whole trip!
