Change resort not showing all available resorts?

The button to change resort reservation is actually working for me for the first time in a year. Very excited about that! I was adjusting the length of our trip and was able to take the day off I needed to and stay at our current hotel. But I was curious what else was available and looked at the other resorts and it wasn't showing me all the hotels available if I went under to make a brand new booking. Is this just some sort of glitch? I had thought about switching to the Bay Lake Tower room available, but it wouldn't show up there and I didn't feel like paying another deposit if I had to cancel and rebook. I double checked a few times and that BLT room is still showing available, but not if I go through changing my reservation. Has this happened to anyone else?

Are you booked with any kind of special/discount? That can happen if there are no rooms still available under your discount. Took me part way through the process before and then when I clicked to the next screen it said sorry nothing.

No, it's over Thanksgiving I don't think there are any discounts out for then. Under the discount tab it says nothing is applied. There are other rooms showing unavailable besides the BLT that are also showing available if I go for a brand new booking. It's really odd I would think it would show the same inventory. Maybe it's a sign I shouldn't spend the extra money lol

Weird! It could definitely be a glitch. That website Is crazy. Much as I hate to say it, you may have to call!

Ugh, I was so excited this button was working for me finally I hate calling it takes forever.

Yes, it happened to me when the current discounts were first released. I panicked because I really wanted the 2-bedroom at BCV that I saw available and knew I could lose it if I didn't act fast so I made a new reservation and canceled the old one. Good thing too because, for my dates, as soon as I booked it, the category was no longer available at a discount. Maybe it has something to do with modifying to a DVC villa reservation as you are looking at BLT and I booked BCV? No clue. Purely speculation on my part!

Yes, that happens all the time. It may be a glitch, it may not. Sometimes it's just a quirk in the reservation system

One thing to watch when looking at a promo rate, the room only booking system will show you available rooms for a resort even though every night is not available at the discount rate.
You won't always realize this unless you pull down the per night breakdown on the check out/payment page. Always check as there are times where you can see weekend rates revert to full price, even though the weekday rates will be discounted. This will happen when the weekend has sold out at the promo rate but the weekdays are still available. Used to, it would just not show any nights as available but now, it will show it, but the total will be skewed.
For instance, right now I have July 17-21 booked at BWI CL at an AP rate for every night. However, if I go to book a new reservation for the same dates, only July 17, 18 show at the AP rate, 19, 20 come up at rack rate. I just happen to be playing around with dates and dropped a day but the price went up. I was curious so I went to check as a new reservation for the same dates and same thing, weekend was now rack rate (it's now sold out)
So what I have found is that sometimes it will show a resort as unavailable just because some of the nights are not available with the promo and other times it will show available but give you 2 different room rates.

Honestly, I hate calling so much during the 2 years I couldn't change reservations, I would book new reservations and cancel the old ones rather than call to change. Because honestly, often, what you see is what they see anyway so if you see it unavailable during "change reservation" they may too. Then you have to convince them to check harder and sometimes, if you get the outsource call center, you will be better off banging your head against a wall.

I don’t think they're necessarily sold out with the AP rates. Check out the last few pages of this thread if you haven’t done so already. The AP rates seem to fluctuate.
