I made reservations for next Tuesday 11th at Sci-Fi Dine In Theater, and also at Rainforest Cafe on Friday in AK....

When placing the reservations, I put for 4 people since that's what we do in restaurants here. However we have a 2.5 year old that sits in a highchair.

I have tried calling the number to add the 5th person but its been hard to get through. I was wondering how important it is to keep trying to get through and change it, since all we are really doing is adding a highchair... It won't change the size of the table and he can sit in my lap if need be. Would we be ok just going the way it is?

I would suggest just leaving it as is and letting them know when you check in at the restaurant... Don't believe it will be a problem.

You need to include everyone, no matter how young, in your reservations because of the fire and safety codes. Also, we were at a restaurant that was running so far behind schedule that they were not seating walk ups, late comers or extra people not included in the res.

Going from 4 to 5 means you will need a larger sized table. For Rainforest you can call them directly rather than through the Disney dining line. They only release a small percent of their reservations to Disney so you should be able to get the correct sized table.

Keep checking online for a party of 5 or 6 for Sci Fi. If nothing comes up you can continue to check at the Concierge or park Guest Relations after you arrive. Sci Fi will usually seat parties with reservations in a car. However, since Sci Fi often runs behind schedule, you may have to wait longer or if they are very busy you could be considered a walk up in which case you will probably be seated at one of the tables in the back rather than a car.

Aha, I didn't even think about the fire code... Although we wouldn't need a bigger table, we have always been sat at 4 topper tables in the past and I get a corner lol. But I will keep checking the site for a 5 person reservation, and will try and call later this evening too. Better safe than sorry, I would hate for it mess up of reservations!

When you say they always run late, how late are you talking? Our reservations are at 7:20pm. What is a realistic time to be sat at our seats do you think... For scif?
