Due to unforseen curcumstances my 2-day trip with my kids has now turned into a potential one-day trip with my sister. She's never been to DCA and I'd love to be able to show it to her, so we'd love to park hop.

We'll not go on ToT, Indiana Jones, or Screamin (eek!) but want to make sure to hit the new and other "e" ticket rides. And I'm in a severe panic because we leave in 3 day and I still need to pack, etc. and have no time to figure all of this out.

Any hints/tips/suggestions? HydroGuy did show me the extreme commando parkhopper thread (thank you!), but any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I would add Toy Story Mania, Soarin and Aladdin. Are you interested in World of Color?

No, we're not interested in WoC. Too much time. What I need is an idea how to park hop - I've never done it before and I have no clue as to what the best way to do it is.

I'd start at DL and walk by all the rides with super long waits (that you don't wanna wait for...obviously if your favorite ride has a long line, you may have to suck it up LOL) and hit the ones you can get on fairly quickly. I'd probably stay at DL til around lunch time..eat..and head over to DCA. Then when you're done there or they close, head back over to DL

I say this way because DL opens sooner and closes later than DCA

Sorry to sound overly simple - but it is. You walk out the gate of one park, straight ahead for 30-60 seconds to the gate of the other park, show your ticket at the turnstile, and go in. Voila! You have park hopped!

HG is correct. Most here parkhop everyday. DCA is merely CaliforniaLand for us. :)

Get a DLR map out & do the following:

- Read DisneyMomma's one day report in the quote below this sentence:

*This* is how we spent 1 day at both parks mid July 2009.

- & read Hydroguy's DLR on a busy day report (which opened my eyes to the joys of park hopping & FP):

"Getting the Most Out of FastPass During High Season" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=885132

- Know the rest of his FP strategies:

"FastPass for Dummies and Smarties - A Photographic Explanation" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1186052

"Which Fast Pass First?" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1107718

"Strategies For Using DL and DCA Opening Time Differences to Collect More Fastpasses"

- here's a thread with lots of comments on park hopping:

"Why I Park Hop" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1491961

- & read the first page of my one day report (found in my signature below):

Lots of ways to tour the parks (but most Dis'ers employ similar hopping & FP collecting strategies). And all agree to get to the parks EARLY if you want to make the most of your ONE day.

:)

Thanks. I do know how easy it is to get from park to park, but not how to maximize the rides, etc. I'll chekc out the links - thanks!

Well, here is how to think about it. How would you maximize your rides if comparing rides between TomorrowLand and FantasyLand? Do that for park hopping.
