WE have our cruise booked for the May 1st Eastern. We were thinking about moving it up a week and doing the Apr 24th Western. Can this be done easily? I really don't want to cancel, have my deposit refunded and then rebook. We booked through DU? Is there a fee to change dates?

Thanks,
Tammy

I know when you book thru DCL directly there is absolutely NO fee to change your dates as long as it's only the deposit that you have paid & you're not in your 60 day countdown/payment due in full time - which you're not. I would assume it's the same with DU.

As long as you are outside of 60 days prior to your sail date, you can change the date without a change fee. Dreams Unlimited does not charge any fees.

There is no fee to change the dates (if you are outside of the 60 day window, which you obvioulsy are) but there may be a change in the per person rates for the sailing, and the taxes are a little higher for the western. So while you will not be charged a "change fee" you might see a difference in the price of the cruise based on the new sailing date. It is very easy to change the dates, if you want to, it takes about 5 minutes (if that) for the DCL agent (when DU contacts them) to change it for you so don't worry about that :)

Thanks everyone for the quick replies - now if only I could make a decision so easily.

We changed dates from May 8th Western to April 24th Western. It was about $350 more. We booked through Costco in July originally. Switched dates in September, so I assumed the increase was because our new date was closer to Spring Break and it was two monthes closer to cruise time.

Hope this helps.

Happy cruisin'

If you reserved a while ago, the difference might be dramatic. We booked early, and to change closer to the date, for our last cruise priced the same as our week was currently selling for, would have been almost a $2000 difference. Even if the 2 weeks are the same price, you are charged the current going rate for the week you want. ex: If your week and the other week were selling at $799 for an inside cabin a year ago, and the room that week and the week you want are now selling for $1499 pp, you would have to pay the higher rate. I fell into the same problem when our schools changed their schedule.

If you just made your reservation though, it should still be the same, then no problem and no additional money.:D
