Hi everyone,

I am debating something and I knew you guys could help. On our arrival day, September 22 we have ADR's for Nine Dragons and then plan on doing Epcot EMH. The next day we have ADR's for Coral Reef for lunch. My question is, should I change Nine Dragons to Le Cellier dinner? (If I can get it of course- that is hard in itself!)

Thanks in advance for your help =)

I've had a couple of mediocre experiences at Le Cellier, as well, so you could be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Just keep that in mind. Having said that, I feel that Nine Dragons is more consistently disappointing than Le Cellier, so that change would be a positive change.

If you really want to clinch a great meal, switch to Chefs de France.

I'll second the change the ADR. If you get decent Chinese food at home- this will be a big disappointment. And they are heavy with the MSG. Our places at home don't use it at all anymore so I forgot to request to not have it in our food. I had a killer headache after the meal. Never again for us.

I would go with Le Cellier, I have eaten at nine dragons on three seperate trips . 1st trip(10/02) ordered the dinner for 2 with one of my friends and we completely enjoyed it , ordered the sesame chicken and it was great , hot and crispy also loved the red bean ice cream. 2cnd trip (9/03) was with hubby and no kids , once again dinner for two enjoyed it so much that when we planned our family trip (16 of us at one time) we planned a dinner here so our family could experience it, it was horrible!! When calling to make the ADR's we could only get a 8:30 slot and we would be at 2 tables , no problem we had planned to see illuminations another night.

Now i know that this truly is not authentic chinese food but in past trips the food was hot and good. This time it was cold and tasteless , we had 2 servers who seemed to be very confused about the dining plan, when we got our drinks there was no Ice in them , only 3 things available on the kids menu Sweet and sour chicken with rice, sweet and sour chicken with rice and shrimp and one other thing which i think was only fried rice My memory is probably wrong though. With the dining plan there was plenty of food so we all shared , one of the kids did not like rice so we asked it we could order a side of noodles to pay OOP for and they acted like it was the most difficult thing in the world to have to do. They also kept saying no rush , take your time but as there were only about 3 other tables with people at them we felt like we were being rushed, the waiters were constantly at the table seeing if we were done.

The only good thing about that night was we got to walk out of a almost empty world showcase and FW it was pretty cool . 2 nights later we ate at Le Cellier and it was on the other end of the spectrum our waiter was great the food was perfect. The interior of 9 dragons was gorgeous but the service and food were horrible. HTH

I would try to flip the ADR's Nine Dragons Lunch menu is actually a little better than there dinner. for us any way

Thanks everyone for your replies,

We are arriving at MCO on Friday the 22nd at 2:45 pm so I had 7 pm ADR's for Nine Dragons...Here's hoping that I can get the Le Cellier reservations!! I somehow doubt it but we'll see!!!

Do you have any other recommendations for World Showcase? The only other place I could think of was Alfredo's, but they get ok reviews too, and we are eating at two other Italian places this trip- Tony's and Mama Melrose.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I called Disney Dining and they only had 4 pm reservations for Le Cellier =( Since our plane doesn't get in until almost 3 pm, that won't work. The girl I talked to said that I can keep trying though.

Update!

I just called Disney Dining and there was an opening for Le Cellier for 8 pm that night! We had to move up our ressies by 1 hour. They must have just got a cancellation!!

I'm really excited, because Le Cellier is my fav and I've never tried it at dinner time. I'm eating there twice in one trip =)

I agree with Bicker. We think Les Chefs de France is consistently better than Le Cellier. It's our fav. Epcot restaurant, w/ LC being 2nd.

Honestly, if my DH expressed enough interest to choose a restaurant, I'd go there whether I thought I'd like it or not. My DH is one of those "wherever you choose is fine" people. If you start discouraging your DH's choices, he may stop making them. :guilty: Just a thought. :)

ETA: Oops, I just noticed that you had decided on LC. Nevermind my post then. :p Enjoy your trip! :)

Get rid of the Nine Dragons ADR! See my thread "Absolute Worst TS or CS and Why"

I think it is nice of you to consider your husband, but I think it is okay that you changed becausr you are going to a seafood place for him, and you don't seem to like seafood. It is your vacation too! It also sounds like you are doing all of the planning. I think it would be totally reasonable to go to LC over nine dragons if that is what YOU want to do. BTW, I like nine dragons, but it isn't a unique experience, it is just overpriced chinese food.

My husband and I personally enjoy Nine Dragons (but HATE Chefs de France. Ugh.). They have a few entrees that we really enjoy, especially the Honey Sesame Chicken. We've never had a bad experience here. We also really love Le Cellier, so I don't think you can go wrong with either one. To be honest, you can't always trust all of the advice you get online--for instance a few years back we tried Akershus based on DIS advice and we found the food to be quite grotesque. Everyone has their own unique tastes.

Snow_White:

I know how you feel about Akershus! After I saw the pics of the buffet I was like "Nope, not for me." People rave about this place, but everyone has different tastes!!

I know not to take the reviews too seriously, to be honest I just like posting on here and talking to you guys- even though I really needed someone elses opinion :teeth:
