Change in fastpasses?

I recently talked to a friend who just got back from a 7 day DL trip, she said it was a little crowded since it was during the grad nights at night, but other than that, it was ok.
She mentioned that the fastpasses had changed, where the fastpass return time when you could get your next set was now 2 hours instead of just 1, even at the beginning of the day. She thought that it seemed weird and asked a castmember about it, and they said that all of the fastpass return times have now permanently changed to 2 hours. (I know that this stretches out as the day goes on, but she made it seem like something changed even in the standard.)

Has anyone else noticed this? I know ALWAYS to take what CMs say with a grain of salt, as the details change from CM to CM, but I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this recently or can confirm this? I am really bummed out if its true.

The California Screamin Fastpass we got on Monday June 16th, said "Return anytime between 11:35 am and 12:35 pm. Another Fastpass ticket will be available after 11:35 am". Since we got to California Screamin after we did Soarin, Tower of Terror, and Monsters Inc, and got Fastpasses for Grizzly River Run, it was probably about 11 am when we got the California Screamin Fastpasses. So I don't see any 2-hour window in effect...

That was the same wording re: timeframe as the Fastpasses we got earlier in our trip for the Disneyland rides as well.

Huh. That's odd.

Well, as we know and love FP, you can get a new one when the "return time" window opens. If it's more than 2 hours until the return window, then the next FP is available at 2 hours after you picked up the first one. I don't think it's ever been available at 1 hour, except for when the return time window opens earlier, like during the first hour or so of the park opening, as you said. Maybe the CM misunderstood the question and just told her that "next FP available time" is always a 2 hour interval, not a 1 hour interval.

We just used the fast passes & the return time at Buzz Lightyear was 40 minutes---not two hours. [That did increase throughout the day, though.]

I was there on the 14th and this was not the case. The FP's I picked up in the morning were all easily under 2 hours, if not under 1 hour. Of course as the pp said, the return time grew as the day went on.

Gosh I hope it is not a 2 hour window.... it would take all day long to collect them to use in the evening....Can anyone else confirm that this did NOT happen?

That would not make sense. I think your friend was misinformed or misinterpreted the statement. I don't think it would be logical at all for the first FP return time to be 2 hours after park opening, especially on off season days when the park opens at 10.

The two hour window applies only when the return time falls after two hours from when you got the FP. Otherwise, it begins when the FP return time starts.

That's exactly what I wanted to know! Thanks so much

That's what I wanted to hear. My friend was there in the same time frame, so that makes me feel much better!

I know! I was major freaking out. I am glad to see that it looks like she was misunderstanding things.

I totally agree. I was sure if it was correct, the boards would know. She does not know much about DL or the FP system, so I think she was totally misinformed. Thanks everyone, I feel MUCH better!
