You can always obtain the blockout dates at any time by visiting universalorlando.com/Blockout and clicking the appropriate link OR by calling the Blockout Date Hotline at 1-800-889-2225

This might change our mind about getting the Power Pass. Before with all the blackout dates, we weren't going to get it, but now we might get 2 and get 1 preferred for the parking and other discounts. Can they change the dates to more after you have gotten the passes? That would stink if they did.

All AP's are subject to change. I'd still get them and if you need to go on a date that is blocked out, you can just upgrade to the preferred pass. It is usually cheaper than paying for a one day ticket.

Since this is a recent change to the block out days, I would be surprised if another change is made to add block out days any time soon.

This is exactly what we've decided to do as well. 1 preferred pass for the hotel discounts and the power passes for the rest of the fam.

Caution: dumb question coming up!

I'm a Florida Resident with a power pass...which set of blockout dates do I follow? :confused3

i am assuming if you bought the power pass for a floridian, that would be the schedule you would follow for block out dates.

i'm sure phamton will come along with the correct answer.....

phamton knows everything.........

I would think I'd follow the Florida resident ones also, but I defer to phamton.

Did you buy the Power Pass before there were FL Resident Power Passes? At one time, anyone could buy Power Passes and they were all the same price. If you bought that one and just kept renewing it every year, then you will go by the regular Power Pass schedule.

If you purchased a FL Resident Power Pass (which is cheaper than the regular Power Pass), then you will have the FL resident block out dates. If you're not sure which one you have, you can have them check it at Guest Services. If you do indeed have the FL Resident Power Pass, I'd keep an eye on the AP website and see if any changes are made as summer approaches. Sometimes block out dates are lifted.

After reading this, I got confused. So the Power Pass Blockout Dates are for anyone who had a Power Pass (non-Florida) before and just keep renewing it? I am a Florida Resident so I go by the Florida Resident Blockout Dates? So I guess Floridians with Power Passes aren't allowed to go to either park for the month of July? Even if that is the case, we never would go in July anyway so that doesn't make that much difference to us.

I'm not sure how well I can explain it but I'll try.

Until a little over a year ago, there was just one Power Pass. Anyone could buy it--resident or non-resident. Then they stopped selling the Power Pass to non-residents. There were a few non-residents that just kept renewing their old Power pass and so they could keep it. But non-residents could not purchase a new Power Pass as Power Passes were then only available for purchase to FL residents.

A few months later Universal once again offered the Power Pass to non-residents but for a higher price than what FL residents paid. At that time they both had the same block out dates but, this week, they lifted some of the block out for non-residents.

I'm only guessing that they think that most FL residents who bought the Power Pass did not want to go during peak times anyway. Maybe they want to attract more tourists during the summer. Who knows? But right now, some of the blockouts dates were lifted for the non-resident Power Pass. They may decide to lift some of those dates for FL residents also but no one really knows.

Thanks for the information. We're going for the day next Tuesday, so I'll check at Guest Relations. I'm pretty sure I fall under the Florida Resident Dates, but I'll ask anyway.
