Hi all,

We are going to WDW at the end of August and are use our frequent flyer miles for the 4 of us on two seperate reservations. (Me and the 2 kid, my wife on the other one. It had to do with two seperate accounts for the miles.)

US Airways had limited availability on flights and that determined the exact dates we would go. We did book this about 7 months in advance. Going out we were able to get the early morning flights. Going back home we had to settle for a 1:00 PM departure from MCO.

My question is this. US Airways still shows availability on the later return flights but they are not open to frequent flyers yet. Has anyone been able to check availability and change frequent flyer flights the day before or day of departure if there is space available? Ideally I would like to take the 5:00 flight. As it is now we have plans to essentially just hang out at the hotel before we take DME back to MCO. With a later flight we could spend a morning at one of the parks or go to DTD or something.

Any input from people that have done this sort of change would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest asking your question on www.flyertalk.com Go to miles and points, then the USAirways forum. You will find a lot of people very familiar with the ins and outs of US. They may be able to make some suggestions.

In general, it is easier to move from a later flight to an earlier one, rather than the other way around. Airlines like to defer sending an empty seat for as long as possible. This isn't to say you won't be able to do it, but until you hear from the USAir experts at flyertalk, you probably shouldn't get your hopes up.
