We normally reserve the “wet rides” for the very end and then go back to the resort. Since there are lockers available, you could probably bring an extra outfit with you. Going to HRH for a long weekend at the end of August and I am thinking about taking a pair flip flops for water rides, but won’t change an outfit since we’d head right back to HRH after that. This seems to work for us.

We usually we usually designate a time for us to only ride water rides. We all wear our bathing suits under our clothes, do the water rides a few times, and then we go back to the hotel and go swimming since we are already dressed for it.:thumbsup2

I'm planning on bringing some flip flops and a light change of clothes (will probably keep them in a locker) to change into mid-day to get all the water rides done. It's probably mostly going to be for Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges, because I don't think JP or Dudley Do-Right really get your feet wet. That's what concerns me those most! I HATE wet socks and shoes. Just that *squish squish*.. ewww!

on the day(s) we do the water rides we wear board shorts (or I have 2 pair of mens swim trunks that look like regular shorts), sandals etc tank tops or swim tops, I'll wear a quick dry sports bra etc. Doesn't take long to dry out middle of the day in the fl sun

Wear the wrong clothes and go on the wrong day or time of day and these rides are terrible. Wear the proper clothing (quick dry) and go in the middle of a hot day and these rides are fantastic!

Right...if you're going on a cloudy and humid day, you will never dry out. But...if there is plentiful sunshine you should be good.

I wear swimsuit under board shorts and top and flipflops! :goodvibes

We wear quick drying clothes (Rohan) and just stay in them. It is often quite welcome in the searing heat and cools you down but this is going in July/August time. When we have been in February it can be quite a different matter.

Our main concern is keeping our feet dry and we wear quick drying sandals. Trainers and socks are a definite no no on Popeye because you will get soaked.

I usually just go around soaking wet until the sun dries me off :rolleyes1 That's what I did at Bluto's Barge, Kali River Rapids (AK), and the rapids ride at Busch Gardens.

This is what we do too. It really cools you off on a hot day. We wear flip flops everyday.

We made the mistake of not being prepared one year, and my poor little cousin and I (both wearing jean shorts) paid dearly for it. We both chafed really badly, and spent the evening in the hotel room, rather uncomfortably.

That happened to me once a long time ago at King's Dominion. They had a ride called The Lost River which was basically a flume ride. I had jeans on and the people in the boat in front of us felt the need to get into a splash war with some people in our boat. I was soaked before the flume and had to walk around all day with soaking wet jeans. It wasn't pretty! :rolleyes1

My boyfriend went on Jurassic and then Ripsaw Falls right after. Because it was hot and also very sunny he dried off fairly quickly. He also went on some roller coasters afterward which helped to dry him off as well! I think the wet clothes will cool you off during the day.

Alreet! Am new here! but anywayss! erm when we go we get wet we get wet live with it lol! u dry off but it depends what time of year u o doesnt iT! :goodvibes :lmao:

We pondered this last week. We usually skip the wet rides as DH and I both hate wearing wet clothes. I was determined to ride all of them at IOA, so we planned ahead. I wore my bathing suit and lightweight shorts, and DH wore his quick dry swim trunks and a lightweight T. I wore my crocs and he wore his sandals. We rode all the water rides first, and then I changed. DH was dry in a very short time, and decided not to change clothes. If I were to do it again, I'd carry the clothes in a different type of bag. I used one of those drawstring backpacks, and the strings really dug into my shoulders after awhile. If I'd had my regular backpack or my (hideous) large fanny pack, it wouldn't have bothered me one bit to carry the damp items around for the rest of the day.

What about in the cooler months? I will be there in December, and normally I just let the sun cool me off....but in the cooler months, what do you all do???

I have been in February three times when the weather can be a bit more variable. It was also the time when we didn't wear quick drying clothes (Rohan) and heavier fabrics on like denim or heavy cotton.

Basically I would take quick drying clothes with you and see what the weather is like on the day you are going to Islands. If it is a cooler day just take a change of clothing to stop you getting chilled, if sunny and warm just let the sun dry you.

When we were there Feb. 1st, 2007, it was a cool day. DS insisted on riding One Fish Two Fish w/ his cousins.... (you have to know, the object is to stay dry...but not w/ these kids...they try to get as wet as possible! :sad2: ) ...needless to say, DS was soaked and we ended up buying him ( & his 3 cousins) "Thing" shirts cuz they were just drenched! Oh, and I ended up giving DS my lightweight jacket I was wearing cuz he was shivering..... I say tote along a change of duds....stow them in a locker near Wimpy's ($2) OR take them with you (they should stay dry)...but, HAVE FUN!!!
