Even though Poly had been showing wide open availability for the last week in September, I BARELY got the 2 Standard View Studios I was trying for.
End of September sure booked up fast!

Yes, I believe PVB will be in high demand during the Food & Wine festival. But it's still 7-month demand at this point.

Adding to the above, Poly studios were remaining open for some time as we progressed with the 7 month window through most of Sep 2016. It has only been as to the last few days of Sep, the beginning of DVC's high demand season, and now Sep 30 and Oct 1(the two 7 month dates that were at issue today), that the studios have disappeared at exactly 7 months out, and they are going very quickly at 8 a.m, with Sep 30 and October 1 disappearing this morning at that time. I suspect that is a pattern that will repeat itself as we go through the last three months of the year. In other words, you may need the fastest computer to win the prize as we progress through this high demand quarter.

Yikes! I was hoping to book poly for mid November at 7 months. I'm wondering now if I should wait and see if I can get it or go to plan B now while I can. /nailbite Planning on 9 nights too so that's waiting two extra days to book at 7months. Blargh!

I'm just looking to get Dec 3-6 for a split stay and have been obsessively checking daily. Right NOW both standard and lake view are available. Does anyone have any idea which I'd have a better shot at getting? And you can book at 8am on May 3rd for that stay online?

Also, I want to stay there Dec 3-6. Would it be a reasonable strategy to get in the middle of the walkers and attempt to reserve a room for a week checking in on 11/29, checking out on 12/6 (which currently has full availability) with the intention of canceling 11/29 -12/2 at a later date? This way I can start trying to book on 4/29 rather than 5/3? It gives me several days to try to get the 3 that I want ahead of the 7 month window.

Possibly a difficult reservation but if you can do it, you should not wait until two days past your 7 month window to reserve the nine nights. You should instead book the first seven nights exactly 7 months out at 8 a.m. on line. Then two datys later call MS and add the last two nights.

There are far more standard views than lake views, but both have been disappearing about the same time in the morning at 7 months out for late Sep and now early Oct. However, if making an 8 a.m. attempt, I wouild likely go with standard. And your 7 month window opens 8 a.m. eastern, May 3, when you can be online to try to make the reservation.

There is no phone at 8 a.m. Reserving on line starts at 8 a.m. Member Services' phones do not open until 9 and by then anything you want could be gone.

There was an incredible page on the DVC boards here where someone made a chart of availability of 7 months. I haven't been able to find it anywhere recently but if someone else has seen it, maybe they could post it and it can help!

Drusba also has been keeping track for a loooooonnnggg time. I think Poly still has some shaking out on the 7 month availability. Until it sells out there won't be a complete picture but it's most likely to have the same trends as other resorts.

Poly is not yet on that availability chart. Only 60% is declared, and maybe 30% sold. So it's too soon to say what real trends are.

The wonderful chart was done by @skier_pete on this thread! No trends on poly yet though as its still early.

If it were me, I'd give that strategy a try, but only if I didn't have to borrow points to do it. You'd have to wait to call MS if you need to cancel the BWV reservation first. If you cancel that online and then try to book the Poly, you run a real risk of the BWV reservation disappearing and if you don't get the Poly, you'll end up with nothing.

If you have the points available - then absolutely yes!
That's how I was able to get the last week in Sept - I booked a day earlier, then cancelled the first day.
