Chances of room request if not booked thru Disney

Hi, I booked my FTP thru Travelocity because Disney did not have my dates. Do the hotels give preference to those who booked directly thru Disney when it comes to room requests? I cannot make a room request thru Disney it has to go thru Travelocity and I was wondering if anyone has any experiences booking thru non disney agencies. Thanks for any help

though i don't have experience with travelocity specifically, we've always been very lucky in terms of getting requests on reservations not made directly through disney. when you check in if you are unhappy with the room the give you, just ask them if they have anything more suitable to what you want. it seems like the try to be accomodating to all their guests.

When you check in ask for any request you have then. We have been very successful in them taking care of it for us. I wouldn't worry about it. Disney is very good at making you happy.

I have never used Travelocity, but used AAA when we stayed at the GF. We requested Bocha Chica with a MK view and got exactly what we asked for.
Even though you use a travel agent you might still be able to fax your room request directly to the resort room assigner 4 days before your arrival date.

We booked our vaction through Southwest Vacations, staying at the All Star Music. We faxed our request directly to the resort four days in advance of our arrival. We got exactly what we requested. I apologize if I am violating the TOS here, but you can find the resort fax numbers over at wdwig.com. Or that same info may be available right here, too. Maybe some nice person will come along and provide more details

Thanks everyone. I was told I could not fax a room request since I did not book thru Disney, but I was going to try anyway, nice to see someone else had luck with it.

We have never booked directly through Disney and have always had our requests honored.

P.S. You can absolutely fax the hotel, even if you don't book through Disney.
