Chances of renting points for OKW

Hi DVC Owners:

I am hoping to rent DVC points to OKW or Boardwalk Villas (both Standard View) for the second week in January. The problem is I won't know for certain my travel dates until mid-September due to our vacation policy at work My question is what are my chances in mid-September at being able to rent points for either location for a Sunday-Friday deal?

Any suggestions for first-time renters? I don't own DVC, but have heard that many owners sometimes rent their points to non-DVC owners.

There are usually some points for rent -- I may even have some then -- occasionally the problem may be the availability of the space you want ( Studio -- 1 Bedroom -- etc) at the DVC Resort you want for the week you want with a 4 month lead.

You'll have a pretty good shot at getting OKW. BWV std views are limited and are usually snapped up by BWV owners. But you never know until you try. Good luck. That is a great time to go!

It really depends on what size accommodations you are looking for. As mentioned, BWV standard view are usually gone before the 7 month window opens up. Also, if you are looking at a studio, BWV has many more of those than OKW because all of BWV units are lock offs and they have quite a few dedicated studios. OKW only has the lock offs available for studios, and there are less of those proportionately. You wont know unless you try. We made our early January ressie back in early February, and that is what many owners do. January usually is easier though than December.

I'm not a member but I did rent points for BWV the second week of January (8-13). I will say that standard view was gone already for parts of that week on a 2 bdr. So, depending on your room type and specific dates, the BWV standard view is likely to be difficult.
