Chances of getting GCV for 1-2 nights in March 2017?

It is not near Easter but DH has a conference in Anaheim and we may have some extra points we could use. I know it is tough to get GCV studio but would it still be tough in March for 1-2 nights at the 7 month mark?

Would it be better to rent GCV for those nights during the 11 month mark and rent my extra points out?

We had no problem booking a GCV 1 bedroom for 5 nights at the 7 month mark (booked it early, right when ressies opened up though). We're going March 2016.

I have been watching it the ape few days and when there is a day open at the 7 months mark it is gone within an hour. I will have to think about it more as the time gets closer. I was surprised at how much was available at the 7 months mark I assumed it would be all booked up by then.
