I am wondering the chances of getting connecting rooms for our party's 2 reservations, with different arrival dates. I booked out package for 5 over the summer, arriving on Dec 11. At that time we couldn't plan with certainty when DD19 would be finished with final exams. When we confirmed her availability last month, I booked a room only for her and my niece arriving on Dec 13. I have noted this request on my reservation, and plan to send a fax a few days prior to arrival. However, I am hearing about our resort, POR being overbooked during parts of December, so am getting a bit concerned.

I am 100%... COMPLETELY AWARE, that nothing can be guaranteed since she is an "adult," so that will not be new information for me. I just wonder if some experts can weigh-in with opinions.

Not an expert. But, the one and only time I've requested connecting rooms has been with arrival dates different by 1 day. This was also at POR. It was in late September, which I think would be less crowded than mid December. We were not able to get them. The rooms were in the same building, but sort of on opposite sides. Maybe you'll have better luck than we did. I think you have a great attitude knowing that it may or may not happen.

I'd say 50-50 chance. Stress it again when you check in. You may be in a less favorable location, but if connecting is more important then it's worth it. On the 13th, go down to the desk and ask again. If the room connected with yours isn't available, they may give you the option to change that morning for guaranteed connecting.

It's not impossible, but they'll do everything they can.

This was at All Stars and a few years ago but I booked two rooms with different arrival dates and requested connecting rooms. During Christmas week. I got them. Have you done the "traveling with" designation? That will help.

Faxing in your request probably won't do too much. I would be calling Disney World and making sure your request is in the system and then following up a couple of times with phone calls. I'd also be nice about it when calling and saying "I know nothing is guaranteed but it sure would be nice".

Forget the fax; it likely won't get read.
When you check in, reiterate your request. Ask if you can be placed in a connecting room where the guests on the other room will be checking out on the 13th - and, as others have suggested, call now with both reservation numbers and have the reservations linked.

Actually POR is the one resort you can send a fax too, and be pretty sure they will get it. Go pop on to the POR thread. Venomhatch can help you out!

My last stay we had 2 rooms with 2 different arrival dates. We did NOT do on-line check in, but had my Dreams TA note we wanted connecting rooms on the reservations. Asked at check in, and they had it all set for us.:) So it doesn't hurt to ask!
