Chances of booking standard BWV at 7 months

What do you think the chances are of us being able to book a one-bedroom and 2 studios, standard view, at BWV for January 2013 booking at the 7 month window?

We own at SSR but are considering booking a few rooms for Jan 2013 for a family trip at BWV. Because of the points values we are trying to keep it to the least # of points so standard views would be our best option

I've never tried staying there in January, but would imagine it would depend when in Jan. you were looking.

The need for 2 studios will get tricky.

I've always had luck getting 1-bedroom standard view for F&W (I know that won't always be the case, but am batting 1.000% so far), so you probably won't have much issue with the 1-bedroom unless maybe you are going to be there marathon weekend and/or MLK weekend.
1-bedrooms will be easier to get than studios since they cost more and people who want BWV standards are looking to save points. (myself we love the 1-br and willing the pay the extra points and that's why we've had a lotta success over the years to date)

We are big fans of the one bedroom as well. This time around we are taking my inlaws (one studio) and my dad (another studio). They most likely won't be staying for the entire length of stay that we are staying, having separate rooms seems like a good option for us

A 1 bedroom would be easy. But the studios, not so easy. I waitlisted on the first day at 9:00AM of the 7 month window for a standard studio for this past January 18-23 and it never came through. It was the week after MLK weekend, so I thought I would have a chance, but it didn't happen, so I ended up with a split stay. I even called up to the last day as my waitlist was 7 days prior to arriving. I was using some of my SSR points, so waited until the 7 month window. My lesson was learned, so this week I'll be booking BWV a the 11 month window using my BWV points. I was only trying to get one studio and it didn't happen. Maybe you're luck will be better. I've had luck getting a standard studio at BWV in the past during January, but things seem to be changing and I find it harder to get into BWV at the 7 month window....the preferred views are always available, it's just the standards....this is why I purchased here to have the advantage and am glad I did now.

Checking into our 1BR Std tomorrow. I've always had good luck with standard views at the 7month window (then again I've always had good luck with my first choices when I call to book).. being President's Week/Mardi Gras week and Daytona 500 week I guess I was lucky. All you can do is try! Good luck.

For your info, standard studios at BWV are already fully booked for nights of Jan 12 and 13, reflecting Marathon weekend demand. Likely the 18th, the start of MLK weekend will disappear soon. 1BR studios still remain open the entire time for now.

Just to add to drusba's thread, OP not sure of your dates, so I just took a peek at what's available and as of right now, there are no standard studios left for January 10, 11, 12, and 13

There are pool/preferred view studios and the standard one bedroom is still available. Since you are booking at the 7 month window, you still have to wait until June to book. Please, have a back up plan.

I've tried to book a Standard View Studio at 10+ months before and been unsuccessful so it doesn't surprise me to read they are all gone for January. As others said, 1B is much easier but still no guarantees. Just because dates are sandwiched between marathon and MLK holiday doesn't mean there won't be many people with trips that wrap into that week.

You will have your high demand around marathon weekend and around MLK weekend. The problem is marathon weekend really lasts until Monday because few depart after the race on Sunday and MLK weekend will begin on Friday, so squeezing in between those two higher demand times is not that easy to do.

Likely you will have better luck if looking at other times in Jan that begin after the first few days of Jan or towards last week in January. That early time in Jan before the Thursday of marathon weekend is still open. It should be somewhat like Sep after the labor day weekened (although Sep has some other issues that keep demand somewhat low). That time was all open for standard BWV studios at 7 months out but then has filled in fairly quickly as soon you hit the 7 month mark for any particular days.

Hmmm, I think I may convince DH that we need to book the rooms we want at SSR (our home resort) now, or at least real soon, and just try to switch later or maybe try BCV too

You should always book your home resort if your dates are firm and you are taking the trip regardless of what is available at 7 months. Not doing so could leave you with no place to stay. Is that likely to happen in mid-January? Probably not. But why take the chance? Book your home resort now!

If you are trying to save points then think about going over to OKW at the 7 months.

but rest of January could work @ 7-months: better plan: Book whatever you can, then get on "wait list" for Standard room as they come available thru cancellations

Saving points is always a goal, we just love the location of BWV and BCV
