Chances for Early Dec

We are going through the process of contacting II to trade for Disney for the week of Dec. 10. What are the chances of us getting a 1 or 2 BR at either the WL, BC, or BW? What are the chances of us getting booked?! I'm so worried. I figured we were starting early, but have read some skeptical posts. I'm so excited about this trip, and have never stayed at any of these resorts. Also, we want to purchase the DP. Do we wait till we're booked and then reserve it through Disney when we have our reservation confirmed? How long does it take to find out if they have the week available for these resorts?

I don't think you have a very good chance. IIRC, no one has ever posted here that DVC even deposits VWL or BCV time. I know that Dean (who owns several different timeshares and knows a lot about trading and II) recently posted that BWV has shown up in December, but I think anything for BWV that was already deposited or will be deposited for that time will be snapped up by people who have already requested a DVC resort. It also depends on the trading power of your unit vs others who also want DVC time.

If there is a match when you make your II inquiry, you pretty much know right away. If there isn't a match, you just have to wait and hope something is deposited later that matches (and no one ahead of you wants).

FWIW, you will not have any trouble trading into other (off property) timeshares for that time frame. Maybe that can be a back up plan if you really want to be at WDW in December 2006.

Keep in mind that availability is just my opinion. Hope I am wrong and you get what you want.

To book the Dining Plan, you would call MS after your trade is confirmed.

Do you think I should request any of the resorts available? Those were just the ones that were closer to some of the parks. They all look great to me, compared to the Pop. What if we request a studio, do you think that would help?

I just looked on the II website, and the resorts you can trade with are BCV, OKW, SSR, and BWV. So WLV are out.

You should consider renting out your timeshare and then going to the DVC rent/trade board and rent a reservation.
