Hi all,

I've done the package before, but this year I was thinking of trying to see the show without the package this year so I can get the DDE discount but I still would love to try a steak dinner at Le Cellier beforehand.

What do you think my chances are for getting at PS at 90 days for Le Cellier dinner before the 8:15p show and what time should I make the PS for if I'm lucky enough to get one?

Have any of you gotten a PS without the package at a decent time so you could still do the show??

Honestly, you have a better chance of getting Le Cellier OFF the package. They only have an alotted amount of times that they set aside for the package. Once those times are gone, you can no longer book there for the package even if they have full avalability. If you are going to the 8:15 show I would suggest trying to get a res around 6:00 give or take 15-20 minutes in either direction. You want to give yourself time to eat and still have time to get to the theater to wait in line for a seat.

Thanks! I was worried that it would fill up with package people.

The last time I did it, I did a package and I did the 6:45 show. Should I arrive to wait for a seat by 7:30p? I haven't got a clue how early to line up for this. So if I must get there by 7:30p, should I make the PS at Le Cellier no later than 6:00p?

Thanks again! That's great news thta there will still be availability!

It really, really, depends on who the narrator is that evening AND whether it is during CHristmas Vacation or earlier in December. There have been times that people have been in the standby line early and NOT been seated. I always did the Norway restaurant for my package, but since it is going all Character Dining, I guess I'll switch to Chefs. Personally, I'll do the package, even though there is no DDE discount.

I realize that the narrator matters now after I just did a search on the subject. I see that when Jim C (from Passion of the Christ) was there only package people got in with maybe a handful of standbys.

I was all set to do the package but my sister is coming and is on the Dining plan. So I was considering NOT doing the plan for her sake.

Thanks again.

We ate dinner at Le Cellier on December 28th. I called 90 days out for our PS and could have gotten any time that I wanted. As long as you call early you shouldn't have a problem getting a PS.

Keep in mind that even with a PS, you will probably still have to wait at LeCellier. Last time we were there we had to wait about 30 min even with a PS!

ETA...this was in December 2001 with the CP package.

I would have dinner after the show. The past 3 years we saw the 6:45 show and had a 8:00-8:15 PS. If you are going the end of November, you shouldn't have a problem getting a seat during the week. I was surprised that we got in the first Saturday in December last year by getting in the standby about 30 minutes before (Kirk Franklin). We aren't going to do the package this year, especially since I bought the DDE. Unless someone big is narrating that we want to be sure to get in. If you want to go before the show, I would go early, say 5:00, to be sure you get done eating without rushing and have time to get to the show.

I knew I'd eventually hear from you! ;)

I thought about that but I'll have a 5 1/2, 6 and 9 year old with me and thought that might be too late for dinner. I thought a 8:15p show is better than a 8:00p dinner. Haven't decided all this yet though. I trying to figure it out.

Don't the narrators come out well after the sale of the packages? Did you still get the package anyway?

Thanks!

Last year the narrators were announced at the same time as the packages were released. Other years it wasn't until October. I can understand with kids you don't want to eat late. I would have dinner between 5:00 and 6:00 to give you plenty of time. You should be able to get it by calling right at 90 days.

We'll be there the same week - we're going Nov 26 to Dec 2 (BWV).

Well, that's good news; it will help make my decision knowing who the narrators will be that week.

I usually stay at BWV too but this year for my birthday we're staying at the Contemporary Tower!! :cool1:

Le Cellier is very hard to get WITH a Candlelight Processional package, and usually is gone within the 1st couple of weeks of booking.

Your best bet is to try Le Cellier without the package. They have great lunches, too, and they are less expensive and it is much easier to get a table then.

I agree with what others have said... it is much easier to get a PS without the Candlelight package that it is so get it with it. Enjoy!!!:)

I have a question about this package deal, can you pick anything on the menu or do you have to go with certian items?

Usually the only restriction is no lobster.

Cool, thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!! Yummy Prime Rib, November isn't going to come fast enough!!! :p
