Chance of Upgrade?

Just wondering if anyone has ever gotten an upgrade at check in at BWV? Thanks

Don't count on upgrades.

Disney has added a lot more categories, due to extensive "requests" in order to get you to pay for what you really want.

They are few and far between and totally out of your control. They occur when a resort is overbooked, people have to stay an extra day due to weather at their destination, maintenance, rooms out of inventory for refurbishment.

Best to book what you want and be happy that you get it. I wouldn't expect to get one - it is not a good way to start up your trip by getting your expectations up too high.

Yes, it rarely happens, almost always to meet Disney's need, for example a burst pipe or some other unplanned for issue.
The chances are slim to none.
This is especially true at the DVC resorts. If you are a DVC member staying on points and you upgrade, you are normally charged the additional points for the new accomodations.
These villas at BWV run at near capacity year round. There is less likiliehood here than in a normal hotel room.
It is best to reserve the room you will be happy staying in

Are you staying on DVC points or through CRO? DVC points are rarely upgraded. CRO typically upgrades to pool/garden view.

free upgrades on points stays virtually never happen. timeshares are very different than hotels.

upgrades on cash stays are very rare but can happen. but if you ask for a free upgrade, you probably won't get one. there's not really anything you can do to improve your chances of an upgrade...if you really want a different category, you should book that category.

we just returned home from a 3 night weekend trip..had booked Pop but when we were checking in the manager came up and asked us if we would like to upgrade both of our rooms to stay at Wilderness Lodge at not extra charge...they never gave an explanation and I really didnt ask..just accepted the offer..

Thanks for the responses!!!!! A few years back we were lucky enough to get upgraded at SSR from a 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom. Just really wondering specific to BWV. We definitely are not holding our breath....

I read that there were issues with the air conditioning at Pop Century that resulted in some upgrades. That's a fantastic upgrade!
