Chance of meeting Mickey?

Hi all, I am just starting to plan our family's first DLR trip and I was wondering what are the chances of meeting Mickey? My husband is totally lackadaisical about it "we'll meet him, we don't need to plan...". But I just think that it would be awesome to see him and get a photo with our daughter. I know he does the breakfast character meal but I'd kind of like to get a snapshot of him in his classic Mickey garb instead of the lifeguard outfit. Surely he's a popular character so he's out and about pretty often?

He's out a lot in both lands at the top of main street and near the circle in DCA but he's always at his house in toontown.

As the PP said, there are several options for meeting Mickey. There is his house in Toontown, at which you're pretty much guaranteed to meet him (it's a structured meet and greet). You just have to be there while it's open. He is also frequently seen in Town Square throughout the day, but those characters vary, so you may or may not see him. He's generally in his classic Mickey tux outfit. Depending on when you go, if the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree/Carnival is running, he may or may not appear there in seasonal attire (primarily talking about HalloweenTime and the Holiday Season). He's also frequently out on Buena Vista Street in DCA. He's dressed in 1920's style movie-producer garb.

I find that if you go to Toontown. within a short time of the gates opening,,, then you should be able to do a M &G with Mickey , Minnie , Pluto and Goofy and look around and do Roger Rabbit ride all within an hour..

Sometimes if you're lucky and get to the park EARLY, you may see him walking around Main Street or in Fantasyland. I met Mickey and Minnie when they were back by Small World. It was Christmas vacation and my mom and I got to the park at 7 am sharp. It was nice because there weren't many people around that early.

When we took our DS for the first time, he was 2 years old. Mickey was the first person we saw on Main Street. We had planned on seeing him at his house in Toon Town that day, but we were so glad we kicked of our trip with him. We saw him multiple time over the four days, so don't worry too much about tracking him down.

The best chance without doing a planned, structured meet is Town Square. He is out most of the day but may have a 15-20 minute gap between sessions, and then they aren't out right before and during the parade. The line is usually reasonable, 5-10 minutes, I hopefully your husband will be okay with that.

Your best bet is to be one of the first at the gates when Toontown opens and head straight to Mickey's house. You can meet Mickey pretty quickly and get some great photos and then go straight to Minnie's house and do the same!

I think he is usually in his band leader costume for his meet and greet at his house in Toontown. If you want the traditional outfit - Main Street is your best bet. :)

We were in Toon Town midday last week and the wait to meet and greet mickey and minnie was an hour. Best advice is to go to Toon Town at opening. :) Saw mickey a lot around both parks but there was always a long line.
