Chance of getting short notice Dec res?

Whaddaya think the chances are of getting a short notice DVC rez in early December? Will SSR sales help my chances? I'm not too concerned about the specific resort because I'll have a car.

Worst case I'll go offsite...which is really no biggie since my objective is to see friends more than anything else.

I've done it before....always OKW. This year though, we planned further in advance and are still on the waitlist for one of our nights (we do have a 1br, but need a 2br because my parents are joining us!) Might be because we're at VWL this year.

If you're flexible with your dates there's probably something available somewhere....

We booked just last week and for 1 BR Dec. 17-21 all that was left was OKW.

First week of Dec. could be tough. I'm on waitlist for ANY studio. 1 bedrooms were all booked as well, but thought I might have the best chance of getting a studio on waitlist. It doesn't hurt to try the waitlist. I'm hoping something will open up at 30 days.

We tried the second weekend in December for a studio and nothing was available. We're staying at a moderate on a cash ressie if our watilist doesn't come through. Good luck!

IMHO, there is virtually no chance - the 60 day mark has passed and there are reportedly waitlists for all the WDW DVC resorts for the first few weeks of December.

If you want a weekday in one of the Disney Collection resorts, you could probably get that - I'm sure the weekends nights (due to MVMCP & the CP) are pretty much gone, though. Of course, you'll have to spend quite a few more points to do that.

I think you will definitely end up off site - but there are lots of nice off site resorts/hotels and if your primary objective is to see friends, that will no doubt work out just fine. If it were me, I'd go with one of the DD resorts (to be near PI).

Depends on how flexible you are about switching resorts or size of accomodation. We have 4 nights in early December booked at the 10 month window, and I've been calling off and on for 2 weeks because someone will GIVE us some banked points that are about to expire. A few times, I could have booked a studio or a 1 BR for 2 nights in a row at OKW or SSR. Every other time there were only isolated nights available at 1 or 2 of the properties. But, it certainly has fluctuated ---- so I'd suggest starting out with whatever you can get and keep trying to add on to that.

Now, if DH and I can only decide what we want to do and coordinate a phone call with our friend to take advantage of his generous offer (yes, we're going to give him something for his thoughtfulness). Good luck!

I called in a waitlist for a studio at OKW anytime from 12/19-12/22. We only wanted 2 nights. About 5 days later, MS called to tell me my dates were open. We booked for 12/19-12/21. I'm hoping my mom might come with me, so now I'm interested in the CP. Can someone tell me where I can find more info on it?
