Anyone have any experience with booking a 2BR at BWV the week after Columbus Day at the 7month mark? I know it's F & W so it will be busy so I'm wondering whether to get our hopes up.

I got lucky yesterday with booking a 1BR at the BWV (boardwalk view) for May (6 months out). Someone else though said that they couldn't get the boardwalk view (one of their 5 nights) at 11 months out.

Guess you never know but it's always worth a shot to call.:)

October is very popular at BWV for the food & wine festival. You might be able to get a preferred pool/garden view, call right at 7 months.

I could not get a standard view (studio) next October one day past the 11 month mark. I missed calling by a day and I was able to book a Boardwalk view though and waitlist.

I doubt that anything standard view would be available at the 7 month mark.

I booked Mardi Gras week (early March this year) about 10 days. Was able to get 4 nights in a standard studio and waitlisted for one additional day.

Got my email today that the waitlist came through.

I am thrilled. I was just in a 5th floor boardwalk view 2 bedroom in May in an ideal location and I have stayed in a standard view studio before so I know what to expect.

It is nice to have the flexibility.

Good luck!

yeah good luck on that boardwalk view now.because i booked boardwalk 7 months out on fourth of July a few years back and i was suppose to have a boardwalk view well when i checked in i was told no boardwalk views left even though i was already told i was getting it when i booked my ressie and what did i end up with a pool view and was told that is a boardwalk view umm don't think so.

Don't mean to sound dumb but is the boardwalk view more points that the pool view? If so, I would've complained. I just booked a boardwalk view for this coming May yesterday and am very excited as it is my first time getting to stay there.

A couple of years ago we were able to get a 2BR at 5 months for the first week in November (the notorious Jersey week). We wanted OKW, but BWV was all that was available.

You just never know until you call.

Over food and wine:

1. Plan on using preferred view points and getting a pool view - you might get lucky and call at the right moment to snag a standard or Boardwalk view, but it isn't likely.

2. Have a backup plan, just in case. It isn't unknown for the resort to be completely booked for certain days over food and wine before the seven month window opens (early December as well).

3. Call right at seven months. There are a lot of people who like the idea of staying in the Boardwalk area for F&W - it is a really nice location for F&W, and F&W brings in a lot of poeple. Many of them bought BW or BC and book early. But the rest will be dialing in when their booking window opens. You chances diminish if you forget and wait a few weeks.

4. There are always people who just get lucky - they manage to call at the right moment in time for the right room type and snag an unlikely reservation. There are also people who are unlucky - they discover that the strangest thing is booked up farther out that anyone would have thought at a "slower" time of year.

I doubt that anything standard view would be available at the 7 month mark.

As a BWV owner, this is always my fear. I bought my BWV contract for standard view during F&W and find when I make this annual reservation I get a little nervous that I won't get my entire reservation (12 nights). I'm currently in the process now, so call daily to add additional days.

I'm so sorry for that.

I guess I got lucky when I called for next October. We have a standard studio booked for Oct. 9 - 14th. :rolleyes1

What are your dates? :confused3

Did your confirmation say boardwalk view? If yes, I would have asked to be moved when one became available at no charge. There's no way a pool view could be considered boardwalk view. I book at exactly 11 months for boardwalk view and would be very upset if that happened.

yes it was on my letter when i got in it.When i checked in on fourth of july weekend i was told by the boardwalk that there was no boardwalk views i did explain to them that i booked this ressie 11 months out and was told i was getting a bwv.I showed them my ressie i was told that piece of paper means nothing.I complain and i told them when i checked in that i want a boardwalk view my daughter was on her cell phone with member services and they ask to speak with the person who was checking us in and even they said you have to give them a boardwalk view they refused the request.Did i also mention that the toilet overflowed and the hair dryer caught fire on that same trip.

I suspect that rooms were taken out of service so they were "one short" on Boardwalk Views. You got the short end of the stick. It happens and they do have the right to move you if it does. Even Disney cannot make rooms appear out of thin air or fix rooms magically that have major maintence problems.

It also happens that people are bumped for VIPs. Several years ago people were getting bumped from OKW Grand Villas for the PGA tour players.

The first I can understand. The second shouldn't be permitted.

I hope we can get what we need.....big family gathering. We are going for the BWview room and the other will be standard. same we, F&W during Columbus day week.....I have to wait another couple of weeks before booking though.

I couldn't get BWV standard view studio at the 11 month mark. Called yesterday (11/19) for a 10/19-10/23 of 2011 reservation right at 9am Eastern and no standard view studios.

Waitlisted, but still a bit peeved that at the booking window we couldn't get the room. Ended up doing PV for 10/19 and moving to SV for 10/20-10/23 with a waitlist for SV for 10/19.

There's actually a group of us going and we were able to get a 2BR SV for 10/16-10/23, but couldn't get the additional studios.

I get it's right in the middle of F&W, but I never imagined I wouldn't get the room on the first booking day. I know what happened... I should have booked a one week reservation on 10/16 and canceled days prior on 10/19. I'm just not a fan of doing it.

That is horrible. You are the third post I've read that was shut out at the 11 month window for a standard studio at BWV in October. I am currently working on my standard view studio reservation for October and call every day to add on an additional day. I posted this on another thread and folks acted like I was crazy to be calling daily to add on each day at the 11 month window. I did not walk my reservation, but once I got the initial 7 nights I've continued to call each day to add on an additional night until I get my 13 nights. I have 2 more mornings to go. There were actually some folks suggesting that it would not be a problem to add on the additional days at the end of my stay. I say, no way, I've come this far, I would hate to miss a day now. Glad you waitlisted, as there is always that chance that someone will move on their 7 month window and you would have to be the first one on the waitlist!

October 19 is a Wednesday. I think you are at a big disadvantage if you do not arrive on Saturday or Sunday. People arriving on Saturday or Sunday take the whole week. I always arrive on Saturday and have not had a problem since the system changed when booking October or early December.

We got our 10/16-10/23 reservation no problem (Sunday as you mention). Wednesday was the only day we had a problem for the shorter studio reservations. We got Thu-Sat no problem (well, got the last SV studio on 10/20, so it was close).

Since 10/19 is a one night stand along preferred veiw room, we're hoping it makes for an easier wait list success.

Oh well, at the end of the day - we're all in a room at the BW for F&W, can't complain about that! So it's 10 more pts and a room change. Better then no room at all!
