We are thinking about buying a couple of bottles of champage while we are at Disney to celebrate our wedding. Does anyone know the cost of buying from one of the resort shops and where you can get it from?

Thanks ::MinnieMo

I'm not sure - because I brought one bottle in my carry on luggage, and then took a limo with a grocery stop, and bought another bottle (I stay in the $15 price range - California, Chandon is my favorite, a Brut, altho I think the Blanc de Nois is pretty - hint of pink from leaving the skin on the grape - Frexinut (sp?) is around $10 here... :flower:

I did buy a bottle of wine from the resort store, and that only cost me around $12...

I know its not an exact answer, but thought I'd let you know you werent the only one bringing in champagne!! ;)

oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!! :cool1:

They do have Asti at the Polynesian store, it's upstairs in the GCH, the same place they have juice, milk , diapers. They also have Sutter Home wine. It is about the same as a grocery store price. Hope this helps!

DW (DoombuggyBabe :drinking1) and I stopped at Gooding's for a bottle to celebrate our honeymoon. We got J. Roget, which is a good, inexpensive champagne (between $7 and $10, if I remember)

We plan on bringing our own champagne when we go through duty free in England as it is so much cheaper here. We did find some nice wines in the shop at the BC, plus you can buy bottles from Marthas Vineyard in the Beach Club, although these were dry sparkling wines and not champagne (as true Champagne only comes from the Champagne region in France.)

The last time we stayed at the Poly, our friends were celebrating their 30th anniversary and my husband and I snuck over to the store in the GCH and bought a bottle of the Fairytale (champagne/cuvee) and gave that to them and popped the cork later that night on the beach while we watched fireworks! Lots of fun and they really appreciated the thought!

I can't remember what we paid, but room service menus now show:
Iron Horse Millennium Fairytale Cuvee $50

(I also have embarassing memories of buying this champagne - on our way out of the store after we had paid, I saw some little glass Mickey and Minnie figurines of a bride and groom and asked my husband if he thought we should buy those too and give to them with the champagne, picked them up to check the price and crash! they all started falling off the shelf (diving off headfirst, my husband said!) Somehow the shelf was not set up right, and I really didn't cause it, but one poor little boy standing beside me, yelled "Mom! I didn't do it, THAT LADY did it!" :earseek: :rotfl: How embarassing when everyone turns and looks at you! The guy working the register said he was sorry and showed me how the shelf was ready to let go so at least I didn't have to pay for all of them! Now if I'm shopping anywhere and start to pick something up my husband always says "Remember the Little Mickeys!" and I slowly step away from the display..... :rotfl2: )

You can buy the Fairytale in almost every resort gift shop for approx $27.95 per bottle. At GF to purchase it they charge you approx $40 per bottle. Those prices are bottles we have purchased within the year from resort gift shops (values, moderates and deluxe..doesn't matter where you get it).

There is also martini and rossi asti spumante.

Pop century has the individual bottles of POP champagne.

Sophia in a can (quite good) was around during food/wine fest so they may have left it.

Either way..you will not have any trouble buying a bottle of champagne.
