I priced out ECV's in florida, and as much as I would like to rent one, it was tough on my budget. I decided to call around locally here and see how much they would rent for. I got prices much cheaper!! In fact I am renting one for 2 weeks for $175. Since I am driving down its easy to bring. It is a sundancer model and breaks down for easy transport.
So, if you want to rent one, look into renting locally.
Oh yeah...I told them I was taking it to Disney and they had no problem with that. :D

What plans have you made in case you have an operation/service problem with the ECV?

If I rented an ECV here at home, then I wouldn't have room for everything else we bring to WDW :)!

Well, it's a brand new scooter so I'm not anticipating any, but what do people who have their own do in case of a problem?
It is a good question and I will ask them about it.

When did you rent from them? When I called them is was up around $300.
Maybe I'll call back today and see if they give me a different price.
Thanks!!

I bring my own power Wheelchair to Disney rather than renting.

Disney are great. Disney wheelchair services at each park will help with minor repairs & adjustments if they can, and put air in your tires, even if it isnt one of their own ECVs.

I once arrived with a chair damaged by the airline. The airline paid for the repair, but Animal Kingdom Lodge Concierge staff made all the arrangements.

That said, I always travel with a list of local repair shops 'just in case'. If something goes wrong, you can always rent. I always take a small risk that I damage my chair the day before I fly back to UK, but you won't have trhis problem with your own car.

Walker - $262.
Randys - $240.
Colonial - $250 (with a $1000 deposit hold on a credit card!!!)
