Calm yourselves my fellow DISNEY friends, this is GOOD news!!!! I'll be on property Nov. 9-12 and I just noticed that now MK is open until 11 p.m. on Nov. 11 and 12 with 2 Spectromagic Parades each night!!!

This is the second change I'm aware of. First, they said Spectro was at 9 p.m., then they changed it to 7 p.m. (on the 12th the day I'll be at MK). So, I was getting ready to change our dining ressies AGAIN to accomodate the 7 p.m. parade, but checked the hours again before doing so. Glad I did!!

I'm thrilled that MK will be open so late, but I fret this just means they expect HUGE crowds, which isn't so good.....

I'll be there 11/9-11/19. I always go in the off season and never see the park open that late. I'm looking forward to it. :flower:

I don't know if I like this! :worried:

Does this mean that that weekend is going to be way crowded? :crowded: :crowded:

The weekend after Thanksgiving doesn't even have as many hours as Nov. 11-13!!!

Len, are you out there? Do you have any insight? :confused3

We went during crowds last time and planned this trip to avoid them this time. Looks like we were wrong!

I was totally shocked about the 11 p.m. close because I figured that all the action would be at Epcot (Food & Wine last night) and MGM (Soaps weekend). I thought MK would be the good park to visit on the 12th. I fear this does mean they expect high crowds. I do know that you can't get a reservation at a moderate Disney resort during that time because I've run a few "checks" just to see and try to determine crowd levels.

We've decided to rent a vehicle while we're on-site purely because we expect high crowds and don't want to wait in long lines with tired kids for a bus.

I'm also starting to get nervous about the crowds...everything I read said that November was supposed to be a good time to go...now I'm not so sure. Crowd levels are listed at 7...I know it's Veteran's Day, but I didn't think that many people got off for that. I also figured that, with Thanksgiving just a few weeks later, the school systems wouldn't give any of their made up days off. Anyone know what's going on that week that is making it so popular?

Lana:
Election day 11/8 in many states (granted, just local, but some statest that use schools as polling places don't have school that Tuesday)
New Jersey statewide Teachers Conference 11/10 & 11/11
Veterans Day 11/11
Festival of the Masters (Arts) Downtown Disney 11/12 & 11/13
Super Soap Weekend MGM 11/12 & 11/13
end of Food & Wine Festival Epcot through 11/13

My hours were changed for the 5th & 6th,so now I"m changing my days around to avoid emh at mgm.I didn't have a problem switching ps's so maybe not too crowded. :flower:

Was just at Disney over Columbus Day weekend and 2 parades or Fantasmic means crowds!!!! We unfortunatlly did or tried to do MGM on Sun night with the 3 extra Magic hours. What a disaster!!! we arrived early 7 ish got wristbands saw rides with over hour waits, figured we'd eat huge lines over by RNR area 45 min wait. They had 2 Fantasmics and there was masses of people waiting to get into the 9 PM show. They were giving out fast passes for the rides for Extra Magic hours so we got one ride on each over in that area. One on Star Wars and the Mermaid at 11PM. It was a total waste, just too crowed. We found the same at Magic Kingdom when they have 2 parades but at least over there there is more too do. Carol :earsgirl:

:cool1: I am glad that the hours are increased! It is very crowded around this time as its the last weekend of F&WF.

I don't like crowds, and my cousin, who went during Jersey Week/last week of Food and Wine last year, said Epcot was absolute gridlock during that time. So, I plan to really go to parks AROUND EMH times.

I don't have to go to F&W but we do have dinner reservations at Le Cellier on Friday night (nov. 11th) and they're at 4 o'clock so we should get seated on time and then have the rest of the evening to explore.

I've gone during July and crowds were awful, but at least the weather will be bearable in November. I can deal with it. I'm a Disney freak so what choice do I have???????????????
