:sad2:  :headache:
I just watched the new on CH news, about the boycotting of gas. These gas prices are making me dip into my Disney funds. They reported about a site to sign a petition to stop the gas companies. I signed up and then sent the link to every Canadian I know. :goodvibes

If these gas prices are making you mad, go check it out and see what you can do.

It's so sad that they reported that the Refinery is finally running at full capacity but DON'T expect gas prices to go down! And WHY NOT?

Ok a question for the people that drive and drive frequently. Do you drive because you like to or because you need to? I drive because I like to and for no other reason as I could take teh bus to work or ride my bicycle when the weather is nicer out for that but I don't I drive. Now I ask if you drive because you need to then do you complain about gas prices? If you drive because you like to and have other forms of transport available that would lessen the load on your gas consumption why don't you use that? I can honestly say that even if gas was 10 bucks a litre I would still have no problems paying it as I love to drive and that is just part of the cost of doing so.

Now they are saying that wholesale gas prices are set by the world market and that the price is being kept up by low stockpiles in the US and the expected rise in demand for the summer driving season.

The truth is that that there is so little competition in the oil and gas industry that they can set the price anywhere they want and that they will take any excuse to raise or keep prices high. That's why the government hasn't changed the taxes on gas. The price would dip down for a month or so and then rise back up to where is was. The only difference would be less money for the government and more for gas companies.

F4disneyfan I have to drive because I own a cleaning business. Yes I would close my company if gas prices get out of hand. I dont want to increase my clients prices. They like it cause I am affordable and reliable. Walking or riding a bike would take me forever to get from Pickering to Bowenville. *L* I do walk to the stores that are close to me though.

I like your spin!

I walk back and forth to work because I can. I bought my home in downtown Toronto for that simple fact, everything I need is within a 30 minute walk.

I can't stand the TTC, I don't car how much tax payers money they put into it, crazy people are still going to ride it, people with horrific body odour are still going to be sitting there and 20 minute waits in the cold/rain/snow/dead of night will not change. I refuse to waste my money to be uncomfortable.

I drive when I WANT to. I don't complain about the cost of gas, it's my choice to have a car, to own my parking spot and take it to the grocery store when I want. I don't need a car, but I sure love it!

I drive because I have to. I would take the GO train to work if they didn't cater the schedules to those that work Monday to Friday 9-5. If I am working until 1230 at night there is no way to get home and if I start before 6am there is no way in. Yes I could choose to live in Toronto, not Burlington, but I don't think that it would be right for my family. All extended family would be an hour away and I think that having them close is important. (to me)

Yes I complain about gas prices. Mostly because they do fluctuate throughout the day. There is no reason for this. It is really sad when you know that the cheapest gas of the day is found between 2300 and 2400, and the gas station attendant confirms this.

Again I need to drive, and I like to drive, but gas prices have become ridiculous.

I like my spin also and it makes sence to. I mean honestly those that have alternate means of transport available and don't use it and drive instead and still complain about the price of gas make me laugh. I have no complaints about the price of gas and as I said I drive because I love driving even with alternate methods available for me to get around.

so i could save gas money by living in DT Toronto, But i will spend at least 100 grand if not more to get a home there, compared to what i have, and amortize that over 25 years and interest charges, i think i will stick to driving to work in TO with higher gas prices ;) !

Heck I love to drive also. I do however think we are getting gouged. I would take public transit. The problem is when I work it's 12 hrs at a time. Right now I have to add on a max of 1 hour transportation time. Half hour each way. If I took public transit. ( GO train ). I would have to add another hour on top of that. I will note that i live within 5 mins of the brant go train in burlington and work within 5 mins of the main oakville stop. The problem is with there schedule. I'm either 10 mins late or 1 hr early. This is not a good substitute form of transportation. So yes I will complain about the gas. Good thing were heading to disney in may we can get some of that cheaper american gas lol

I dont care how much it cost in gas when I go on holiday. I do however hate to spend money on gas to goto work.
