CG Bar?

The first night we get there, we're planning to do a Monorail Crawl dinner & watch Wishes from some where along the line. It's a Fri & for some reason , MK closes at 7, so Wishes is really early that night.

Anyways, we like to just wander along the MK resorts & go to the bars/lounges & split an appetizer & something to drink at each one. We'd like to wind up with some sushi at either the sushi counter or the bar at CG. Those are walk up if there's room only seats. I'm thinking if we get there around 9 or 10, the Wishes crowd will be long gone & we should have no problem getting up to the bar/counter.

Do you think that should be ok timing?

I would try to figure out what's going on at the Magic Kingdom that night before you try to plan around fireworks. If the park is closing at 7pm on a Friday night in May, it might be because of a buyout or some kind of private event. I really doubt that Wishes will go on at 7pm because it will still be light out at that time.

I was wondering about that, but that's what I thought I saw listed on the DIS Theme Park Hours page... but, yeah - it would be too early, that must be an error...

It might be Grad Nights (early May) in which case here would be much later fireworks.

It is Grad Night from what I can tell and there will be no Wishes Fireworks that evening. I believe the fireworks for Grad Night are much later (midnight-ish).

1) After the fireworks, the place really thins out.
2) Planning to arrive 75-min after Wishes starts should work well.

so, if there's no wishes that night, do i dare hope that cg will be a bit slower and the bar accessible?

most folks try to time their cg visit to wishes, we try to time it when there are no wishes, lol

If the fireworks are later than the restaurant stays open, you shouldn't be worried about the large number of guests who only go to CA. Grill because they want to see the fireworks.
