Certain # of rooms for free dining?

I was just on the Disney website booking a vacation during Free dining for this year (11/26-12/4). I went through the Free Dining special, but it said that there were not any available rooms for those dates. I find that hard to believe. (I did only check the value and moderate resorts.)This is during value season. We went on these dates a couple of years ago and the crowds were sooo light. So I was wondering if perhaps Disney only set aside a certain number of rooms for the free dining promo? (although that seems crazy to me, but I just can't figure out where I went wrong)

Yes a certain number of rooms are set aside for each promo. Keep checking though they may release more room. For a week POFQ was showing no availabilty during our dates in October, so I booked at POR then on a whim I checked online and it was available. I called my travel agent immediately and she switched reservations for me.

Well that is thanksgiving weekend..so i could see all the free dining rooms taken. Are you sure there is free dining starting the 26.. normally this is a blackout period

I could be mistaken on the 26th. I had tried several dates that was the last one I remembered. It should have been the Sat. after Thanksgiving, but I think you're right. I think that is a blackout date. I don't think it is offered again until the onday after. But right now, that is all fuzzy math in my head! I'm just happy to know that I wasn't crazy when I kept moving the dates around checking! There really aren't rooms available!!! I am not crazy! I am not crazy!

Free Dining starts on Nov 27 which is the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

MK2010~The 26th was a blackout date, but it is not anymore (this is when we are arriving so I know for sure!! We had to modify our reservation when the date was included to get the free dining) We are booked at a moderate with the free dining for our whole stay.

I'm not sure what happened when you tried to book, but I did a quick search with your dates for a moderate and both POR and CBR showed up with availability with free dining. You might just want to call the Disney Reservation Line to book!! Good luck!
