Is the 2.30pm ceremony time a stupid time to get married at SBP?!Were really worried about the idea of rain!! The 2.30 time slot works so well for our wedding plans but many people have warned us that 2.30 in september is always raining!!!
We personally have never been to Disney in september so we dont really now the september weather patterns!!
TIA!!

Gosh, I don't know if I'd say it's "stupid", but it's going to be H-O-T and you definitely are going to have a strong possibility of an afternoon storm.

September is a very hot and rainy month, and for myself, after going numerous times over the years in September, I can say there is no way I'd ever consider an outside ceremony at *any* time in September. We live in Michigan and it can get hot (it was almost 100 here yesterday) but for some reason (probably the excessive humidity), Florida heat feels even more oppressive to me. September in Florida = sweat dripping down from my forehead literally 2 minutes after I walk outside. But if you're not as sensitive to the heat as I am, then you won't be as bothered. :goodvibes

I'm not trying to scare you, but since you said you'd never been in September, I wanted to be honest. Hopefully there will be other brides able to share a more positive view of that time of the year! :thumbsup2

Sorry to say this but not only is September hot and rainy but it's also in the middle of hurricane season.

As a FL resident I know first hand how hot September is and it usually rains right around 2-3pm.

I probably would change your time to the evening or morning if September is the best month for you.

You risk the following things. A) Rain B) it being hot or C) it rains shortly before your wedding and then mixed with the heat, the humidity will KILL you.

My son's birthday is in September..the first year at 2pm..it rained. The second year we had it at 2:30 but it was so hot we moved inside. Last year, we moved it to 3 and it rained at 2ish and that mixed with the humidity, was horrible.

The great thing about Disney though is that they make your dreams come true! I've heard of them being able to bring out fans to help cool you off, and you know of course, that if it rains they'll move you indoors. I'd stick to your plan for now and see what it might be like. You can change it later when you get a better idea of what it might be like!

We are hoping for 12noon at the end of August with 10.30am as our second choice. My third and fourth choices are 12 and 10.30 a day earlier as I do not trust it not to rain after 2pm and my consultant was in agreement.

I know it's not September, but I got married mid-October and it started raining precisly 15 mins before my wedding. I was so mad no one reminded me of the possibility of mid-day rain.

However, it was so humid anyway that my guests (if not me and DH) would've probably been passing out if we had it outside.
I'd go earlier if possible.

Wow, I always assumed that the temperatures started to cool down by mid-October-Yikes!

Last year I had a 10 day vacation at the end of September and into October (we left the 4th I think). Over the whole vacation it only rained one day and that was at night after 7pm. It was hot at the beginning (first two days) until it rained but then it was absolutely beautiful temperature wise. The Love Bugs were the biggest issue! So it doesn't necessarily have to rain or be sweltering. I think though you should be prepared for it to be hot, humid and rain and if it doesn't - bonus!!

I've been 3 times in September and i've only had a few rainly days.

Something else to consider-if it does rain, will you be happy with the indoor location that you will be moved to? I'm pretty sure Disney puts you in a ballroom if your ceremony is outdoors and it rains. I recommend asking your planner to see lots of pics of the back-up location. If you are happy with that, then go for it!

I really like the look of SBP and was really considering it for our June Escape wedding. However, after seeing the WP and realizing how hot it was going to be even at 10 am, we chose the indoor location. I am so glad we did!

August and September are by far the hottest months and the sun is hottest @ 3pm, so a 2:30 wedding will be H-O-T! I live in FL and we were were just out in our back yard for 15 mins and all came in soaked in sweat. September is brutal.

+1

We were in the WP for our June wedding last year (also at 2:30 pm) and it rained throughout our ceremony...so I'm REALLY glad we had an indoor location that I loved instead of a back up that I probably wouldn't have loved. Thankfully it stopped raining later in the afternoon, but by that point it didn't matter as much as it did at 2:30 pm!
