i brought my ASICS and gave me a blister on the first day within a few hours! Besides buying a pair of Mickey tennis shoes at the emporium for $40 is there a brand recommended?

Brooks are great shoes. They aren't cheap but they have no seams to rub your foot. I'm sure they must make velcro closures

Blisters.. I have several blowfish shoes! Awesome love them for long distance walking and flying on a plane.

I buy Lock Laces to convert DD’s shoes to no-tie. That probably doesn’t help right now if you are in vacation, but for future.

Good luck with the blisters and enjoy your vacation!

Agree with the pp about moleskin! Also try Body Glide. We carry a travel size Body Glide in our parks bag for blister prevention. Wool or wool blend socks can help, too -- any kind of sock that wicks moisture can make a big difference in preventing blisters. The right shoes are key, but the right socks are equally important.

Are these new shoes or ones you've broken in? What do you have with you for back-up footwear?

If you can alternate footwear during the day, you can slowly break in the asics if they are new. But if you go buy a pair of Mickey shoes they are also brand new and are going to need to be broken in. I third the idea to get some moleskin to cover any red spots on your feet.

Because I have no arch in my foot it’s hard to find comfortable shoes that are perfect for Disney parks and other stuff. I already broke in my Mickey shoes and brought my purple blowfish shoes as back ups they make a difference when you wear arched shoes vs flat shoes with no-tie.

Now I'm confused - did you want to know if you should buy the Mickey shoes or not? Are you at the parks now, or just looking for new shoes to get for a future trip?

What I meant was I’m currently in the Disney parks.. for future reference for next visit, is there a shoe to buy for no toe no arch besides the Mickey Mouse tennis shoes? The first day I got here I had a blister from ASICS shoes after a few hours and had to buy the Mickey Mouse tennis shoes because we weren’t going back to the room and grab my backup shoes.

Glad the tennis shoes didn't give you blisters on top of your blisters! Can you tell what it was about the ASICs that caused the blisters? Just look for a shoe that doesn't have that feature, be it a high back, a seam at a certain spot, etc. I've got a great pair of Chucks that I want to wear to Disney because they have a padded ankle and a wide toe box, both spots where I tend to get blisters. But I wear ASICs in the parks too, because of the square shape of them, so not sure if Chucks will work for you. Maybe just make sure you wear the shoes for hours with lots of walking before the trip?

I agree - it's important to pay as much attention to what *doesn't* work with your shoes, as what you need!

Before I had to use a mobility device full time, I never wore new shoes to Disney World. Learned that lesson the hard way, years ago. My shoes never looked brand-new fancy out of the box after that, but they were well broken-in, and I knew they would support me all day.

One fast tip is to wear your socks inside out, so that any seams are on the outside of the sock, not inside where they can continue to rub on tender toes and feet.

Don't try to cover blisters with standard Band-Aids while walking at WDW; the Band-Aids won't hold up/stay in place, and they can just cause more trouble. You will be better served with the Moleskin, like @kaytieeldr said above.

I would invest in some good inserts for your support problem. I have an arch that collapses and I get arch support inserts for my shoes. Makes a huge difference.

I use these for my shoes. Only thing is is that the shoes can’t have the looped eyelets. They have to be closed eyelets.
