Hi,

We are booked to go first week of Easter halfterm - have been to Longleat lots of time, but we thought we would try somewhere different this year, so has anyone been to Sherwood Center Parcs??? let me know what you think of it....

No Florida for us this year, having been last year and the year before, but now dd1 is at school - it means going in school holidays and the prices are scary (and we are 2 adults and 3 kids!!!!!!!!!) am trying to get dh to go back for Easter next year - but waiting for flights to be released.....

thanks
Nathalie

Hi Nathalie
We went in 2003 when DS was 5 months and we had a great time. I have been to Elveden and thought Sherwood was better, probably as nearer to home.
Pool is great for the kids and don't miss the Aqua Sana for mummy pampering time - not to be missed!
Also don't miss the Pancake House the chocolate one was gorgeous. You will have to get on your bike to make you feel less guilty.
Have a great time

We went at New Year and loved it so much that all 13 of us have booked for next New Year but are trying Longleat so I need to ask you after you come back which you think is better!!!!

The castmember said that Sherwood Forest is the best. We have been to Oasis loads of time before it was center parcs and was different but really liked Sherwood. I would guess it would be even better if the days were longer and the weather a little warmer!

Let us know how you get on and have a great time.

Hi

I have been to Sherwood about 5 times I love it!!!. Also been to Elvedene and the one at the Lake District (that use to be Oasis).....my favourite is Sherwood by far!!

Have a lovely time!! :wave2:

Just back on Monday from a ladies weekend there, our third time. It's a lovely place, though I haven't been to any of the others. The villas go from basic, executive to vip! We were in basic which was fine, though the beds are hard and the pillows harder! Everyone had a bad first night. There were swans, geese, ducks, moorhens, squirrels and rabbits outside on a lake and on our patio. A swan knocked on the window the first evening!
The dome (pool etc) is great and it is fun to swim outside in the freezing weather and at night. The water was soooo warm though. I am told the slides and rapids are brilliant. There is also a new ride in a raft type thing which the others really enjoyed. I'm a water wimp so didn't try it, but I am told it lands in 6" water, so I could have had a go. Seems most folk hire bikes.
There are loads of extra activities to pay for. The jazz brunch on Sunday mornings is well worth it.
Yes, give the Pancake House a try. I had a large banoffee one!!!! Mmmm.
Did a lot of walking - you can get a bit lost. All in all, a great weekend.

Is a week too long there? We're toying with the idea of travelling to "one" when we get back from DLP just to make our one week holiday a two week one!?!?

Well I wouldn't say a week would be too long, as long as you like outdoor things and swimming etc. If you have children there is so much for them to do too. There are plenty of eateries and a great supermarket. It does all seem a bit expensive though, but great fun. I think you can try almost anything.

We are paying over £900 for a basic two bedroom villa this coming new year for four nights. The three nights we had last new year went so quickly we were glad that this coming year the break was for a day longer. But is very pricey. The rest of the year seemed much better value and there are a lot of special offers but I guess the school holidays are very expensive as usual.

You could have a Baileys hot chocolate at the country club and these are delicious.

We loved the bike rides and the animals outside our villa. Does anyone know if it is the same kind of wildlife at Longleat?

For a week the restaurants could be fairly limited.

Hope everyone has a great time.

Susan
