cellular coverage in WDW?

DH and I will definitely be taking our phones into the parks. We'll only be using them if we get separated and need to meet up, not to annoy everyone while we're standing in line and talking with grammy back home.

My contract is up with my current provider and I'm not thrilled with them. They're ok but I think I could do better, KWIM?

So my question is, are there any cellular providers I should avoid that don't really have good coverage within the Disney property?

I don't know if there are any with "bad coverage", but I can tell you we used our cell phones a good bit when we were there the last 2 years. We didn't have any problems with coverage. Our provider is AT&T (used to be Cingular).

You could probably check with local providers and ask for a map that shows how far out their coverage extends nationally.

When we went last year, we had CelluarOne(now AT&T) and our friends had Spring/Nextel. We didn't have any problems reaching them or vice versa.

We have been several times with our Verizon cell phones and never have had any trouble with a party of 8 sometimes more we used them just about everywhere trying to reach each other.

Another AT&T using family that didn't have any trouble.

DH has T-Mobile and I have Verizon and both our phones worked well on our last trip. We had less "bars" than usual on the phone, but no problems.

So it seems that all the major carriers work pretty well in WDW, then?

Ok, now I need to decide what new plan to go with. :headache:
