Check with your phone carrier to see if service is available. Also, some phones can be used worldwide. I was albe to use my cel phone in Ireland this past winter.

I read on a trip report recently that someone was able to use their Verizon Cell phone on St. Thomas.

My nextel died 3 hours out to sea and didn't get service 'till I woke up in port!!

Sprint works in St. Thomas. No roaming fee for calling the states.

We had the get a software update to our phones before leaving so that they would work. My mother also had Sprint, she did not get the software update before leaving and her phone would not work.

My Sprint phone worked while cruising by Puerto Rico, you have to time that one right, check your Navigator :).

Worked fine in St Thomas. Made calls all day long and also hooked the phone up to my tablet PC and checked email, thought that was SLOW. At least it was free!

My verizon phone worked fine in St. Thomas. Reception was very good!

AT&T will also work in St. Thomas....

My DW used our Verizon cell phone on the island in January. Worked fine and wasn't that expensive for a 1/2 hour call.

LOL, Lloyd!! Thats kind of funny...in a disturbing "now that it is behind us" sort of way :badpc: :space: :drinking:
