Do you get a strong cell phone signal in the parks, or should we take the two-way radios we use when skiing?

I have Verizon and have never had a problem with my signal in the park. :)

Nextel works good with the exception of some buildings.

I just find the two-ways way to hard at WDW as evryone is on them and there just is not enough channels to keep the chatter down.

We tried to use the two ways last trip and it is virtually impossible. Too many others have the same idea. If you have the phones use them or do what everyone did before they had to be in communication 24/7/365....set a time and a place to meet and stick to it! :cool1:

I got a tracphone just for the trip, and we had no problem getting a signal...neither did SIL on her Verizon phone.

Depends on the service you have.

Nextel generally has the best service overall, as they have cell towers ON disney property. WDW Communications uses Nextel now instead of traditional walkie talkies.

I have also seen that Sprint and US Cellular have good to decent service around property. Verizon I know also works very well, less a couple of the buildings.

I got T-moblie with Blackberry service all over the park. I even had a wrong # calling and ringing as we rode It's a Small World. :woohoo: No I did not answer it, the crackberry was on vibrate the whole trip.

Sprint service here, never had any problems at any of the parks or Downtown Disney and the surrounding area.

I was just wondering, I've heard like with two-way radios and cellphones, people can get tangled up in your conversations. Have any of you ever had experiences with your cell phone(im not taking a two-way)TIA!! :goodvibes

forget the 2 way, its next to impossible to make contact witht he person you want. We use our cell phones, Cingular service, never a problem with a signal

No problems with cellphones.

The two ways don't work that good at all. I was listening to other peoples conversations over them and I am sure they heard some stuff I said. Defintely Nextel or cell phones.

No problem with reception on Cingular... but I wish my volume would turn up a bit more... very hard to hear outdoors and I don't like using indoors.

The only problem we have had is getting a weak signal when we are in the resort rooms. Otherwise we are able to get a strong signal in all the parks. We are currently using Sprint.

Hi Folks.

Just adding my (very small) personal experience. I have Nextel, and used my phone once in AK, EPCOT, as well as the balcony of our room (VWL). No problems anywhere.

I didn't realize that Nextel actually had towers on Disney property. Thanks TSR6 for that info.
