Cellular one was iffy all around Disney property. Was a bit disappointed by that as our trip was the main reason I finally sprung for the cell phone in the first place.
We've never had a problem with our Cingular service either.....sometimes I wish we would since my DH tends to get work phone calls several times during a vacation!!!!
We have Sprint and don't have much trouble. While in resort rooms it can be iffy though but I think that is mainly due to the phone because when we step outside, it works great.
My parents had no trouble with their "real" cell phones, but I have a pay as you go (Tracfone) and could NEVER get a signal. After the first day, I left it in the hotel room.
I was wondering about TracFones since I have one. Did it work in your hotel room? DH is staying home and I wanted to call him at night on my TracFone, but wasn't sure if it would work down there. If not, I'll just leave it home.

Tracfone doesn't own a network. They usually use Cingular Wireless (some models are the older TDMA, the newer 'single rate' is GSM) and sometimes Verizon Wireless in some states. The really old tracfones are analog only (think pre 1999 cellular service)...those will get horrible reception. If you have a CDMA (Verizon) or GSM (Cingular) Tracfone, you should be fine. The older digital TDMA tracfones will probably have problems as well...as Cingular is focused on GSM only. Tracfone basically rents airtime from these various providers. 7-11 Speakout Wireless, XE Mobile, and Virgin Mobile all have good prepaid plans that are cheaper than Tracfone.
Same situation with Cellular One. They could roam on a variety of providers. Cellular service really does depend on the cell phone and not just the network. A bad phone will make even a decent network horrible. Orlando only has: T-Mobile (GSM technology), Sprint (CDMA), Nextel (iDEN), Verizon (CDMA), and Cingular including the old ATT networks (Analog, TDMA, GSM). If you have a different company, you will be roaming on one of these networks.
