my phone died in august, right when I was due to re-up my contract with verizon wireless (ahh, the timing). I bought a new phone and re-upped, but did this at costco instead of at a verizon wireless store.

now my battery is fried. no idea why, my phone just stopped working. dh took the battery out and said something about seeing red x's there, not a good sign, blah blah blah.

I would assume this is all still under warrantee, since its only been a few months. the question is, do I go back to costco, or can I go to the local verizon wireless store.

does anyone have any insight?

thanks!

The red x's are a good thing. That means your telephone has never been wet. If you haven't had it that long, take it back. It should be under warranty. Take it back to where you originally bought it.

oh, so the x's are a good thing? my husband must have had it backwards...he said they meant it had been wet, but I knew it hadn't been.

I finally found my box/paperwork/receipt, and I bought it on august 30. I feel better now that I have all that, and hopefully it will be up and running tomorrow.

funny how lost I feel without my phone in working order, when I lived so much of my life without one! lol.

We just signed with Verizon after years with AT+T and one thing I learned with research is that whomever sells you your phone is basically who you deal with after that:confused3. Our local Verizon store has the absolute worst c.s. reps working there, and so I didn't totally believe them when they said, "Buy from us or don't bother bringing your Verizon phone back in here in the future". However, when I called Verizon direct, the c.s. rep (who was EXCELLENT) told me that, yes, phones bought from them online go back to them to get fixed, ones bought from a store go there. So I do think that yours has to go back to Costco.

Good luck!
Terri

interesting, terri! okay, well, the local store opens at 8 so I'm going to head over there and see what they say. I have to go to costco later so will deal with it then if I have to.
