cell phone (palm centro)

My 13 year old received a palm centro for Easter. It is broken now. He dropped it where the battery charges connects to the phone and it no longer charges. It is called physical damage so insurance wont cover the damage.

Anyone know where i can get parts or repair for the phone???

Oh boy,
I feel for your son. I have one that I got when they first came out. I was looking for something to sync to my work calendar and needless to say this one's central button doesn't work for going down. It's also a bugger to plug in. I use the USB charger at times because the other one is touchy.

No advice on the parts because mine wasn't covered either - just a bunch of hugs because these really are crappy....

DD has a centro and we have AT&T so I am going to assume you have AT&T also. If you cannot find the parts, you can buy a cheap gophone and put his sim card in it.

I hated mine, I bought one of the first ones, it quit syncing contacts and calendar within the first 30 days. Upgraded it forthe Treo 755, went through 5 of them until they put me in a Treo PRO mid May. IT's a Windows Mobile phone, I'm still trying to decide if I like it, but I was too leery of the Pre (not to mention even more $$$$$ since they were going to force me to upgrade out family plan). I wish you luck, if you have a god relationship with your local store or repair center (like I do) see if they have a refurbished one that you can buy cheap or you can always try eBay.

I would get the kid a regular phone.. no reason for a 13 year old to have a centro... obviously a) the device is too advanced for him/her and b) they need to be able to take care of such an advanced electronic device. Get a refurbished standard phone.
