I'm looking to get a new cell phone...is there one that has really great reception in Orlando? Any experience?

I have US Cellar and it was good reception when I went with it twice. Once in 07 and the other in 09.

I'm pretty sure reception has more to do with your service carrier (sprint, at&t, verizon, etc) and not so much the specific phone that you buy. I'd say any new phone would be pretty similar to the next as far as reception ability. Plus, I'd assume with so many people using their cell phones in one isolated area, there would be towers all over the place from each carrier.

Good luck!

another thing you could do is go on your service carrier's website and check to see if you'll get reception while you're down in Orlando. that's what i did before my familys' trip last summer.

because it is Disney pretty much every carrier has full service. It may go in and out but in the disney parks it will be full service!!!

Speaking as just a visitor, there is very little service over by Animal Kingdom Lodge on Verizon, but other than that I never had any problems during my last visit :)

Disney themselves uses Nextel, and there are Nextel towers all over property. (when I had a Nextel phone, I even had reception in the tunnels at MK, and that's pretty much impossible with any other carrier)

I believe Sprint and Nextel merged, or one company bought the other; IDK the details, but bottom line, the original poster will have to sign up with Sprint to get the service you described.

I myself have a Sprint phone, and it worked fine when I went to Disney as a visitor a few years back.

Thanks for all the response guys! I am getting ready to buy my first cell phone...crazy, I know. I figure I might as well see what carrier has good reception in that area in case I get into the CP. I don't want to get a phone and seven months later hate the fact that I can't talk to anyone.
