Cell phone coverage

This may seem like a strange question... and I think I know the answer, but I don't want to be suprised when I get there....

How is the cell phone coverage, in the park in particular? Is there any exclusive disney money making contract that only sprint phones work, or something similar. I would imagine cell towers take away from the site line magic they are always working on.

I am curious (At&t for me, but will it work)

Thanks
Kevin

I have AT&T and haven't had any trouble with reception anywhere on WDW property. :thumbsup2

I have Verizon and it worked well when we were there in November. Sure hope it continues to work in April when we go again :cool1:

I have Verizon. When we went last September, we had excellent coverage pretty much everywhere. The only place that I can remember where I had problems was on Splash Mountain. My phone did get soaked and still acts weird sometimes.

I have Sprint and it worked great while we were there. I think we had some places it didn't come in well, but not to many. Sorry I can't help you with your AT&T phone.

Thanks Millie! I have Sprint, your response was very helpful to me!:thumbsup2

this cell tower... er... tree will ensure cellular service works just fine

That is so cool! I can actually see the tower within the tree! You gotta love Disney huh?

I have had AT&T/ Cingular for years and have never had any problem anywhere I've been on WDW property, except in Soarin'. ;) We get great signal, which is better than some spots on the way to WDW.

I switched to AT&T just before my September trip and the reception wasn't quite as good as it was with Sprint - although, I can say the same for the reception here in Chicago as well. Especially with the Edge network, there were dead spots. Especially inside buildings. I had a hard time getting an Edge connection at all inside our room at the Polynesian, but had a good enough connection in our room at WL and ASSports. Generally, I could make and receive call most of the time, it was just the Edge network that was occasionally spotty.

I have Cingular/AT&T and have never had a problem in Disney World, which is funny b/c I have horrible reception else where!

I wanted to add that the only place I've actually had trouble would be in my room at the resort, both POR and CSR. I always have to go outside of my room in order to get a signal.

For some reason, T-Mobile is a little spotty. You can usually get a signal though and we haven't had a lot of issues. I did learn to put the phone on vibrate though because I don't always hear it ringing when we're out walking in the park. Plus, vibrate is best when you're in a show!

We have US Cellular and it has always worked well for us. Unfortunately, I forgot to switch to the national family plan before we went, so our phone bill for July 2007 was $350. :sad2:

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NATIONAL PLAN!!!!!

We had Tracfone when we went in November and my sister had Virgin Mobile, neither of us had any issues at any point ever. :D

T-mobile is spotty for me at home but never had a problem at Disney!
