Any favorites? My contract is up next month and I want to change from Sprint.

I love Verizon. I have been with them for about 8 years currently, probably 10 or 12 total (tried Nextel aka Sprint and switched back).

I guess it depends on where you live, but I find they have really good coverage for me (in RI/nearby MA), everywhere. I also have alot of family (almost all) that are on Verizon, so it makes wireless calls cheap! (Free calls to other Verizon customers.)

If you're looking for super hightech phones though, a la IPhone, you'll have to check out AT&T.

ETA - Verizon does have really great phones, too, but not the IPhone. The Droid is supposed to be pretty comparable though, and that's available on Verizon.

Hi Eliza :wave2:
I have AT&T and have had for the past 10 years or so. It really does depend on where you live. We're very rural. When the kids were growing up they independently tried Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and one other that I can't remember now..... If the skies were clear and they were standing by their window, then they could place calls from our home. AT&T is/was the only company that has exceptional signal strength in our area. I have been very satisfied with my phone, service plans, and knowledgeable staff. I just renewed my contract and upgraded my phone to the iPhone primarily because we have only dial-up available at home and my iPhone is so much quicker!
Good luck on your decision.

I'm also a Verizon fan here! Most of my friends and family have Verizon, and so it is "free" to call them. Plus, I live in the country, and Verizon offers the best coverage where I live.

I have AT&T mainly because of the corporate discount I get--and I have the iPhone and a broadband wireless card. Customer service has vastly improved over the last year and I even got 'on the fly' tech support on Twitter!

I've been with T-mobile forever it seems. I think their prices are hard to beat and the customer service is excellent. However, the reception will just depend on where you are. It's great for me, but when my daughter was away at school she didn't get a signal in her apartment at all.

Verizon. Best coverage and very few dropped calls. It's great!

coverage and dropped calls is irrelevant unless the op is a neighbor. What company may be great for one will be terrible for another as far as coverage and dropped calls are concerned since coverage in different everywhere.

OP

What are you looking for in a cell phone? What services do you need?

What did you not like about Sprint?

Personally I am with ATT and have an iphone. Now that I own an iPhone I will be with ATT forever(unless of course Apple broadens out and lets other companies sell iPhones) could not imagine ever having a phone I love more.

I have Verizon for home and US Cellular for work and Verizon is much better in my area as far as dropped calls :thumbsup2

I would love to go AT&T for the iphone but coverage is nearly non-existant in our area  Really hoping for a version of the iphone to go to Verizon!

We have Verizon and have lots of dropped calls. We had Nextel for about 10 yrs with no problems until Sprint took over then we had tons of dropped calls. Verizon keeps telling us they have closer towers they are working on and we will soon have a great signal. I'll believe that one when I see it. I've even had dropped calls in areas where the signal is good.

Verizon has more towers nationally than any other carrier, so system-wide Verizon is the best in that respect. Maybe not with prices, but they do have the least amount of dropped calls than the other companies. AT&T is near the bottom of the list. The only thing they have going is the iPhone, but the company can't keep up with the number of users.

I'm another loyal T-mobile. My coverage is usually no problem. The original reason is because they were $20 cheaper a month than Verizon. The reason I've stayed is all about their customer service. I love that I can pop to the retail store with a problem and they can usually fix it in a matter of minutes.

Can't help ya then. We have Sprint and have been with them for about 12 years now. Everytime I call to drop service they offer me a better deal. We pay very little really.

oh give me a break that survey consisted of 3,800 respondents of the over 22 million cell phone users in the US. Can you say skewed.

Verizon - just look at the maps! =)

you mean the ones that ATT is suing Version over because they are fraudulent?

Do not get me wrong I am not saying ATT is better than Verizon or vice a versa I am saying check the coverage maps for your area do not go by skewed surveys and fraudulent advertising on either company's part.
