Dell is having a sale.

Do I need the Pentium? Cost is $150 more. I only use my computer for the basics: email, word processing, banking etc.

Will I regret it if I buy the Celeron??? (I have a Celeron now)

Oh and I want to play VMK and my current computer is too slow. ;)

Celeron processors are much slower than Pentium processors, but for what you're looking to do, you probably wouldn't have any problems with it. They're performance is just as stable (or unstable) on Windows as the Pentium, but they are a simpler design built into the motherboard (hence the cheaper price) which makes these machines unable to be upgraded, as far as video or audio cards go, usually. Whichever way you do decide, the one factor that will make all the difference in the world is memory. Get yourself 512Mb of RAM and nothing less.

Years ago I bought each of my kids Celeron processors that were supposedly faster than the Pentium computer I was running at the time. Mine was like 2 or 3 years old, while theirs were brand new and mine still ran way faster than theirs did.

I think you'd be very disappointed in one. For $150 bucks, go with Pentium. AMD is better you're gaming though. I noticed that Dell doesn't carry the AMD for some reason though. Well, they didn't the last time I was on their site anyway.
