Celebrity Apprentice

I really wanted Clay to win but I have to give props to Arsenio, he seems like a nice guy and the Magic Johnson Foundation is a great cause. And Clay is so gracious, even though he didn't win he'll keep working with his foundation and helping all those kids. Both guys were great contestants and I'm SO GLAD I DON'T HAVE TO WATCH AUBREY ANYMORE!

I love how after Arsenio won, he brought Clay up to the front of the stage with him, and pointed to Clay, for the audience to acknowledge him, too. :thumbsup2

I was Team Arsenio, but I would have been happy for Clay, too.

But, I think Arsenio was telling the truth when he told Trump that he wouldn't forget it if Trump picked him to win. After Arsenio had been fired from his talk show and people he thought were friends wouldn't return his phone call or give him the time of day, he said he learned a lot about who his real friends are and about loyalty. I think he will always go out of his way to give a boost to Trump for picking him. :thumbsup2

I saw Clay and Arsenio on the Wendy William's Show on Friday and Arsenio said he wasn't fired, he left because he wanted to settle down and have kids and he didn't think he could be a good father with the schedule he was living. He had already written and turned in his resignation to the powers that be before the Farrakhan interview came up.

I don't get how Arsenio won? Clay raised more money, threw a better party and had the FAR superior variety show. I like Arsenio but it should have been Clay.

I agree that Clay should have won. His ad was better, his party was better and his show was better. He also raised more money.

Had Arsenio been a really class act he would have told Trump that he'd continue to work for chairty even if he wasn't the Apprentice.

I think Trump decides before the show starts who will win. Agree with the PP who said the agents have a hand in it.

I do feel bad that Trump did not give Patricia any money for her charity. She raised a lot of money and I think when that happens each celebrity should get to keep the money for their charity. I don't think the show would suffer if during the fundraisers the winner didn't get all the money. Tonight Clay and Arsenio got to keep the money they raised, good thing, or I would really be upset that Arsenio won.

I think Trump decides PERIOD. No one tells him what to do. He decides who he wants to represent him, to give the title to, if he likes them, or are friends of his.

It wasn't like Arsenio had a career going before the show. And just because he announced plans that he is on he comeback doesn't mean he will be successful. So I don't get where people think he or his agents had any real negotiating power. :confused3

I think if Trump likes you, wants to give your career a jumpstart, then he will pick you. I know Joan Rivers made a big comeback after winning. I didn't watch but maybe three episodes of that season so I don't know if she deserved to win, but I think she won because Trump liked her and liked having an older contestent win.

I just think he felt that Arsenio would benefit more from the win than Clay. It is JMHO but that's what I think.

Was anyone surprised that Cheryl Tiegs and Michael Andretti didn't show up for the final?

Oh yeah I forgot about Cheryl Tiegs. lol

You don't actually believe that do you?

The Celebrity Apprentice choir.

The first thing I thought to myself when I saw them was I'm glad they didn't show up on CP time! :rotfl2:

(Arsenio brought up CP --colored people-- time before the variety show when they were letting people in and said in a nutshell that CP are always showing up late for events.)

:rotfl:

You don't actually believe that do you?

Seriously. Anyone who was alive back then and remembers how it went down would know that is a total cover story. Not to diss Arsenio, but back then he made a mistake, lost his show, and has spent nearly 20 years trying to get his career back.

I think Clay should've won. I think it says a lot about his management style that Lisa donated to him, and that the only one who really seemed to dislike him was Dayana :rotfl2: I think Lisa seemed a lot nicer and more relaxed in the live show. Dayana was as vapid as ever, and Aubrey was still "me me me."

My only consolation is that Aubrey was on the losing team in the end

Overall, a good season. It didn't reach the "Gary Busey/Meatloaf" level of crazy (and perhaps no season ever will), but it was worth watching, and it's always nice to see so much $ going to charity.

I don't understand how Arsenio won.:confused3 Clay raised almost double the money. He worked really well with nearly everybody. The only one who didn't seem to like him was Dayana (sp??). He and Penn had a fight earlier in the series, but seemed to work well together in the end. Even Penn said he should win. Both the parties were nice. If Arsenio won soley on winning 2x before, then it makes the final episodes and parties a farce. Prior winning history should be considered only in a close battle. It didn't seem close at all.

More and more evidance how "reality" TV is not so "real"....

Michael Andretti is the Chairman, President, and CEO of Andretti Autosports. This weekend was time trials for the Indy 500, with the race coming up this weekend.

I think he was a little busy in Indy last night.........

Going into the boardroom scenes I thought Arsenio would win because he was a better leader during the task than Clay. Clay's insistance on micro managing was annoying and stressed out his team. I like Clay - I was rooting for Clay - but as a student of leadership - I found his to be lacking during the finale

The short version....Louis Farrakhan.
Ah! I am a former Chicagoan. I can see where that would backfire on him as Louis Farrakhan puts the "H" in Hate Speech. He is also one of the most charismatic people I have ever seen on the TV. I see that the interview is on YouTube. I think I might take an hour out of my day and watch it. It should be fascinating.

but as a student of leadership - I found his to be lacking during the finale

Good insight. I didn't think of it that way but I'm sure the Trumps do!

See, now I thought CLAY was the superior leader keeping his eye on everything. I felt Arsenio was lackluster and took a backseat a lot of the time as a leader.

I felt the same way, especially considering that Clay and only Clay was going to be on the chopping block for this challenge. He couldn't point the finger at Debbie if the mural was bad. He couldn't blame Aubrey if Trump didn't like the carnival concept. This seemed like the one challenge where micromanaging was the way to go.

I was pretty surprised that Clay didn't win. He raised more money and I felt that his party was not only more fun, but also applied to his charity in a great way. And, while they didn't show us the entire variety show, I do feel that Team Clay was much more fun to watch - and appealed to a much larger audience.

I like Arsenio, so I'm not horribly disappointed. Just surprised.

I agree. Clay seemed to be more in control of his team, whereas in most challenges, Arsenio's team usually got away from him (but luckily he ended up winning). I was rooting for Clay, but either one is a good win since they were both so likeable. I'm surprised Clay didn't win, and I can only assume it was because Trump felt that Arsenio's charity was more in need of the money.

Once again, proof that everything Aubrey touches turns to cr@p!

While I believe Clay deserved the win, I also believe trump had identified his winner very early in the game. With that said, I think both Arsinio and Clay are genuine, class act men who deserved to be in the final two.
I also believe that Lisa donating to Clay and not Arsinio was very telling, including the manner in which she did it. It was clearly obvious by doing that and then seeing her just after they announced Arsinio the winner that she wanted Clay to win. If she just wanted to donate to his charity and being truly charitable about it, she could have donated and not make it so obvious and all about her. I also think she was trying to sabatage Arsinio by her foul mouth during her part of the comedy show. She roasted Clay for crying out loud. Really a nasty, mean, vindictive woman...menopause is no excuse.
