Interesting how the least shocking comparisons were of people who don't fuss a bunch, the natural look. Emma Thompson, for example, looks almost as great without makeup and airbrush as she does with it.

Goldie Hawn shocks me. Yikes, I guess that is what 60 looks like.

And Michael Jackson. Wow. That is just plain sad.

How about Oprah? I know she isnt shy about being on TV without make up but it shocks me everytime!

We can all look absolutely stunning with a little help from an experienced make-up artist, cosmetic surgery, or air brushing.

Some of those photos I've seen on tabloid covers while I was checking out at the grocery store, so I have to wonder if they've been 'touched up' for shock value.

I know how different I look when I have my make-up done for functions -- I don't think I even look like myself. Just imagine how we'd all look if we had someone to spend hours on our appearance every day. And cooking for us, picking out our clothes, and making us exercise...

Not that he doesn't look freaky...

but they should at least compare a current photo of MJ made-up to a current photo of him w/o make up. The "good" photo of MJ is from the Bad album, which came out when I wa in 5th grade...that's 16 years ago! The w/o make up photo is much more recent.

I wonder how many of the others have the same "time lapse" problem...obviously some, like J Lo and Christina Aguillera won't, but for older celebrities, those years can show. I wonder how old Goldie's good photo is.

Now that I've said all that, some of those "bad" photos just show how human all celebrities are...they get their pictures taken mid-chew, or yawn, or whatever, just like the rest of us.

And Johnny Depp, he looked even better in the 2nd pic. But of course I'd prefer him dressed as Captain Jack....faints.

I love seeing photos like that - It's so easy to aspire to look like women in the media & forget that those women have a whole team that helps them look that good. I'd love to see celebrity women get together & do a whole photo essay of them going natural. I think that would be too cool.....

Some of these pictures look real old to me. Johnny Depp's first picture looks like it's from his Edward Scissorhands time and Tom Cruise's first picture looks old to me too.

As for Christina Applegate, she just looks tired and sweaty and no wonder!

I'd hate to show myself without any makeup.
