Has anyone been to Celebration over the Halloween period? I would be interested to know your thoughts.

Is it a long drive?
Would it be worth a visit?
Is it likely to be jam-packed?
Are there restictions about going?

Thanks!

Yes, we went and it was fantastic. Decorations are great and there was even a place where you could carve out pumpkins.

Will you be there 5th or 6th Oct? http://celebrationtowncenter.com/events/oktoberfest-2012

We have been to a few of these events, Oct & Xmas. Mathew used to love painting a pumpkin, catching the leaves falling. Great evenings.

Its about 15 mins drive from LBV area. Where you driving from?

Not sure what the crowds will be like these days, it while since we were there for one of the Haloween events.

No restrictions, its a town centre with shops & restaurants. Lots of free parking.

A couple of pics, he was so young there.:rotfl:

Oktoberfest looks fun! We were just in Berlin this past weekend so I think we'd really enjoy it. :) We won't have a car- is Celebration easy to get to via bus/taxi?

Just get a cab, you only live once.

The crowds were fine. No issues there at all, they had a wonderful market and band playing also.

Wayne -I would be driving from OKW. We will be there 29th Oct - 12th Nov. I thought it looked like good ole wholesome family fun - US style.;)

Ah yes, I forgot your dates.
They used to do Leaves are falling a few times throughout Oct but it looks like its just the 1 weekend now.
I doubt there will be anything special going on for halloween but its still worth a trip down to spend a couple of hours there walking around the lake, having a drink. We like to have lunch there, probably will early Nov.

There were lots of Halloween displays, pumpkin carving, bands playing when we visited.

You can visit the pumpkin patch and see the decorated houses/decorations on the main street. We've been twice but not on halloween itself.

Pumpkin patch is in aid of charity - you can take pics. We just gave a donation as we didn't want a pumpkin.

I read last year that the event on halloween itself was residents only - in the park that is residents only I think.

For halloween itself there will be fun at OKW eg pumkin carving and fancy dress competitions judging by schedules i've seen for previous years.

We visited Celebration in Oct 2012, not any special events but nice for a wak around and to see houses decorated etc. As PP said there was a small 'fete' where you could buy pumpkins, homemade cakes and have your photos taken with pumpkin displays etc (gave donation for charity).

You could also take a trip to the Wilderness campground using Disney transport; some of the RVs have fantastic decorations; we had a walk round after doing the Haunted Carriage Ride.:thumbsup2

How was the carriage ride? We thought about doing it but DD (5) is scared of everything!
