We are just beginning to plan for a WDW trip in early 2009. My boss has a timeshare in Celebration that he's offered to let us use.

Given that this will be our first WDW trip - me, husband, teen-age son, maybe Grandma & Grandpa, what are the pros and cons of staying at the timeshare rather than at one of the resorts (i.e. transportation issues and so on). We will probably be going in early February on my son's semester break from school.:surfweb:

If you are going to have a car and the price is right (as in free and you just send the boss a nice bottle of wine as a thank you), I'd try the timeshare. Odds are it is bigger than a basic double, one-bathroom room so there'd be plenty of room for everyone. Been staying at a few vacation club timeshares via a friend, and for the money, won't be doing a small hotel room any time soon.

You can drive and park on property, then let Disney bus you around if need be. I find it fairly easy to drive around WDW myself, but I have been several times. If you will not have a car, then it is unlikely you will have any convenient and affordable way to and from WDW, so you may want to consider on-property. FWIW.

The added room will be a huge benefit in my opinion and free vs. $100/night is another HUGE benefit in my opinion.

Hands down I would take the time share.
