We are travelling to DL 25-27 Jan 2011 and I was thinking as we arrive lunch time on the 25th that maybe a good start would be the Celebration Roundup Lunch. Any idea as to what time it plays and is it worth it. We will be arriving from Orlando and will be hungry. We are a party of three myself and two teens 14 & 16 who are both still fun loving and not jaded in any way. What do you think?

Currently, Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue opens at 11:30 am. The show times are spread throughout the day, with mostly 15 minute breaks between 15 to 30 minute shows, which have Tex Tumbleweed (on guitar, occasionally on banjo). Sarsaparilla Sam on piano, and Miss Chris on vocals and leading the audience participation numbers.

It is, however, no longer the Celebration Roundup with Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye. But, your trip is far enough out that you should check back closer to the time you plan to arrive. The show has changed several times since it's inception April 2, 2009, so it wouldn't be surprising to see more changes in the future.

I was there for lunch Saturday and Dinner Friday. It is good, albeit pricey. I wouldn't call what I have seen much of a show as just during meal entertainment. There are no characters (per se) but you often see woody and jessie doing meet and greets right down the 'trail' from the BBQ.

We were at Disneyland those exact dates this year and the Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue wasn't open. We were hoping to get in to eat because we did it back in September and loved it. I think the unpredictable weather in January keeps the outdoor restaurant closed. They hadn't even removed the Christmas decorations yet.

The show isn't so much a show anymore, when it first opened it was a character meal and much more expensive. Sadly, they've done away with that and although there is a little entertainment here and there, it's not really the show that makes it a worthwhile meal. The food is pretty delicious, we've been many times and the food is what keeps us coming back. The all you can eat menu is great for a really hungry group, you can definitely get your money's worth.
