This is my first time posting so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
While we are in Disney, our group will be celebrating two birthdays.
I know that we can get buttons and that some cast members may, or may not, do something.
Someone told me that, if you show proof of your birthday, you can get free popcorn and free ice cream for the day and someone else told me that you can go to the head of the line.
Are either of these true? I haven't read anything about either one of these happening.
Thanks!

No those aren't true. You'll just get a free pin. No free food or front of any lines.

If you wear the pin any CM's that see it will tell you happy birthday

Judging by the amount of buttons I see each day, these both have gotten to be false, especially the front of the line. They do sometimes have a mini celebration cake with a nice sit down dinner and you get a button.

Yes,that's all true as well as FREE Amphicar rides at The Boathouse all day!;):)

We are always there while my youngest son is celebrationg his birthday. He requests Chef Mickey's for his dinner and always has received a signed photo & cupcake. Had lunch at Crystal Palace last year and got the same. Once, in the eight years we've gone has he received a certificate for Mickey Bars for all three of us. Apart from that, there have been hundreds of CMs wish him a special day.

No and no.

Pretty much all you should expect are plenty of well wishes, although you might find some pixie dust somewhere along the line.

There is a cart that gives out buttons. I've seen a youtube video of it getting out of hand with people just grabbing them.

Lots of fake birthdays.

I ended up taking mine off as it started getting a little annoying. Also, decided not to get one at Universal as the TMs just should at you across the park, which is annoying!

I was down there a few years ago for my nephews birthday and my family made me wear my birthday pin and ears since it was also my birthday that week.....all I got was "Happy Birthday Princess" towards the end of the night it got a little old. Though for my upcoming trip I am tempted to wear at least my pin. (even though I am going 2 months after my birthday this time)

You never know what a CM might do to make a day special but I would not expect anything beyond a happy birthday.

My wife and I were down for our honeymoon this past June and had the Just Married buttons (or Happily Ever After, I forget the terminology). We were congratulated quite a bit by cast members and did get some unexpected surprises. I imagine they do that for birthdays on occasion as well.

I have returned back to my Resort room on my Birthday before and had balloons,a card from Mickey,a Mickey plush and a Mickey picture frame waiting in my room,bu that is STRICTLY Pixie Dust and usually doesn't happen.:)

There are little things that can happen like there is a Birthday message the bus drivers can play and a special phone number CMs can tell you to call for a message from Goofy(there is a special phone in American Adventure just for this),but mostly it's just CMs and Guests wishing you Happy Birthday.:)

During my Birthday last month The Fifteens sang Happy Birthday to me-several times!!!!lol:)

I wouldn't go into it expecting to get something for free, but depending on the CM, some will go out of their way to sprinkle a little pixie dust. We went a couple of years ago for DS' birthday and got him the birthday button. The rest of us were given "We're Celebrating" buttons. At every TS meal we had, he got a special birthday cupcake at the end. He also got a birthday card signed by the characters at Tusker House. Other than that, it was lots of "Happy Birthdays" from the CMs and characters (including Prince Eric yelling "Happy Birthday, [DS' name]!" in the middle of the parade!)

I also bought him the "It's My Birthday" Mickey ears, so I'm sure that helped to bring some extra attention.

We're going for my husband's birthday this weekend. I called yesterday and asked to have a note put on our dining reservations that we're celebrating and the CM I spoke to said, "Oh yeah, we can definitely have some fun with him!" Fingers crossed for pixie dust. pixiedust:

I have been for a few celebrations: birthdays and anniversaries. DH and I never expect anything, but we have received some sprinkles of pixie dust. We were seated in front of the tank at Coral Reef. Crystal Palace and BOG we received a cupcake and a card as well as mickey confetti on the table. Had cast members at the Sci-Fi have everyone in the lobby sing happy birthday to me, etc. Just don't expect anything, and let Disney work their magic. :)
