Celebration button

Tomorrow’s the day!!! We will check in to SSR and then head to AK. The reason for this trip is to celebrate the fact that I am in remission. I’ve been in remission since August but this is the first time we are able to go. Would it be weird for me to wear a celebration button stating “I’m celebrating beating cancer” or something to that effect? I’ve been to WDW many, many times and have never worn a celebration button! Any suggestions or ideas?

I have no suggestion, but want to say congratulations on your remission. DW and I have lost 3 of our 4 parents to cancer. I am truly happy for you, even though I don't know you. Have a great trip and enjoy every day!!

Being there day in, day out, I've seen thousands of "I'm Celebrating" buttons saying everything and anything. Your reason would be among the top good reasons for wearing a button. I'll be on the lookout.

I've written celebration buttons for guests that involved everything from graduating middle school to getting a divorce. Beating cancer is a great one!

Hey I wore a celebration button for far less (we flew down the day after I took my MCAT many moons ago), I think yours is a much better reason! If you want to take the celebration up a notch, you could even make one of those custom Tshirts to wear (which I also did, no shame here lol) if you wanted. Have a magical time!

I think you should definitely wear it. We wore 20th anniversary pins in November of last year and were surprised at how much people commented and congratulated. I sort of expected the comments from employees (and the little things like free dessert). What I didn't expect was how much other guests commented--we even had another guest send over a bottle of champagne one night and another couple picked up our tab at Nomad one afternoon. People will want to celebrate this with you--give them the chance to do so!

Congratulations, that is something to celebrate! I had open heart surgery in January 2017. While recovering from surgery, my husband told me to plan a trip to WDW so we could celebrate my recovery. In October, we had a magical vacation! And yes, I proudly wore a celebration button for my heart recovery. It was a journey to get to that point, and I felt like I had the right to celebrate. So do you!
